TL1 - (6:25) 137 BPM
TL2 - (6:09) 137 BPM
-2 & VIL - "TL3" - (6:16) 135 BPM Hot
TL4 - (6:53) 137 BPM
Review: -2 was last seen providing a hard edged contribution to a split release on Hayes, and the producer's mood hasn't changed much here. "TL1" is a dense, panel-beating banger that cruises close to the 140bpm mark. "TL2" revolves around a similar tempo, but the arrangement is more spacious and the rhythm more streamlined, while the use of atmospheric synths lends it a somewhat esoteric edge. There are no such concessions on "TL3", -2's collaboration with VIL, which revolves around a vicious, predatory bass, while on "TL4", -2 moves closer to the high-paced minimalism of producers like Jeff Mills and Surgeon.

-2 - "Scherzo" - (7:49) 135 BPM Hot
Temudo - "A2" - (5:46) 129 BPM
Osse - "Quantum Mechanics" - (5:13) 134 BPM
VIL - "Metafora" - (5:12) 132 BPM
Review: Hayes is a new techno label to emerge from Portugal, and for its second release gathers together some new talent. First up is -2 with "Scherzo", a dense, rolling groove led by dramatic chord surges. It's understated, but its kicks rumble away in the background like distant thunder. Temudo, who has released on Planet Rhythm and Labrynth, delivers deeper, hypnotic, loops of "A2", while on Osse's "Quantum Mechanics", a forbidding future is mapped out through the use of spiky, insistent rhythms and tonal sequences transmitted from outer space. Rounding off this exemplar release is VIL's "Metafora", where claustrophobic drums and clattering percussion prevail.

Temudo - "A1" - (6:26) 130 BPM
Moddullar - "Encrypt" - (7:20) 128 BPM Hot
Temudo & VIL & -2 - "Discordia" - (5:58) 129 BPM
VIL - "Szandor" - (5:27) 132 BPM
Review: Hayes is a new label from Portugal and it opens its account with this storming split release. First up is Temudo, who delivers "A1", a gritty, acid-soaked loop that sounds like it was inspired by early Lost releases. Moddullar, who has put out EPs on Planet Rhythm and Dynamic Reflection, opts for a cleaner but still tough loop techno track with "Encrypt", while on Temudo hooks up with ViL and -2. The fruits of their collaboration is "Discordia", which again sees the release towards a slightly more abrasive and mysterious take on dance floor techno. Rounding off this impressive debut is ViL in solo mode, with the tough, percussive "Szandor".
