Review: Onlydrums bossman 10AD makes his debut on Nick The Lot's Pick The Lock with four slabs of high intensity jump up business. 'New Path' sets us up as we mean to go on... Big swaggering beats and a woozy, tippy bassline oozing all over the shop. Deeper into the EP we see him linking up with Duece for 'Glitch' where the beats bounce on a similar triplet but the bassline is pure subby harmonics, 'Energize' ups the momentum with skippier drums and breezier rave tones while 'The Price' finishes on the grizzliest note of the EP. Uncompromised alien funk. This is a path worth exploring...
Review: Following his recent excursions on the likes of Pick The Lock and Kartoons, OnlyDrums bossman 10AD goes in deep with his debut LP. Pure unadulterated dancefloor power, High Roller lives up to its name in every direction; cuts like the title track bring a sense of funk and class thanks to big musical sweeps while cuts like 'Missing' bring the level up with major league cameos from the likes of Traumatik. Other collabo appearances include Froidy on the stalking dark funk creeper 'Heavy Init' and Decrypt on the scatty, springy 2012-flavoured banger 'Things They Do'. 'Spaceboy' brings the final note on a slower, old school breaks flex. Ready for take off?
Review: Yung Pabz hits debut LP level on Bruised and the world is a vibier place. Building on that highly sprung, oddball funk that he's made his signature with previous singles and big bootlegs 'Just For Tonight' is a full showcase of his sounds, styles and vision; from the stripped-back, high-freq twists of 'Ring The Alarm' to the hurricane rises and creepy grotty textures of cuts like 'Moods', he explores every corner of the jump-up/dancefloor axis on the dancefloor before bringing everything to a dramatic peak with the futuristic funk of 'Rush'. El Pablo scores big on this one... Guaranteed to last longer than just tonight.
Review: OnlyDrums continues to thrive at the forefront of the current rave energy with this savage six track VA attack. Featuring a range of exciting new names, the likes of Foe & Krusty, Decrypt, 10AD, Hook, N.T.G and Masson all get stuck in and deliver some disgusting dynamics. Highlights include the blazing, brazen drama of 'Franky 4 Fingers', the deliciously wobbly licks and kicks of 'Crystal' and epic, tightly coiled spring funk and timeless riffage of Masson's finale 'Jumper'. Bouncing!
Review: OnlyDrums link up with Decrypt once again for some codebreaking carnage. Six cuts in total, with cameos from MC Mookz, Jhitzu and 10AD along the way, it's another grot parade as Decrypt gets mucky with the bass designs and stark, minimal grooves. Highlights include the groaning graveyard funk of 'No Way Out' (with 10AD), the super buzzy Hexa-style bassline revs of 'I Wanna Know' and the savage, 2012-style bouncey bassline title track 'Blacked Out'. Heavy.
Review: From the V to the I to the P; three little letters mean such big things for any card carrying junglist. Especially those who follow the good work of OnlyDrums who are revisiting key cuts from their discography and reboosting them with all-essential VIP energy 10AD's album title track from 2022 brings even more string-surged drama with 'High Roller', Vital's 'Fire' hits with even more heat while Decrypt & Inforce's 'Good Time' brings so many good times there's a danger Chic might come and kick your door down! Elsewhere Jhitzu's bullet-busting 'Revive' has an extra twist in the bassline while CXM's 'Voicemail' from 2022 gets an added layer of drama to the mix. Give OnlyDrums a call today!
Review: Noxxic and 10AD return to the scene of the crime! Previous spotted 'cutting people first' together back in 2022, they're now back with even sharper VIP knives and you'd be wise to stay out of their sweary way! More cuts continue as the pair link-up on the super grizzly 'Quick Hands' before going solo with a tune each... 10AD's 'Throwback' is a stripped back bruiser coated in strange Simula style croaks while Noxxic's 'Neck Brace' is so heavy it might actually break your neck. Stay safe folks!
Review: Call up your enemies and tell them you love to hate them! Nemesis Recordings are back with more bruisers from Noxxic! Bringing along good friends 10AD and Neman for a collaborative ride, the full five-track collection kicks in all directions. 'Pop' will be a big favourite with many as it rumbles with Hazard style barking bassline and a killer rap sample on the fill, elsewhere other highlights include the neck-snapping two-step and lazer twist 'Kill Them' and the classic mid 2000s tear-up vibe of 'Mr Smite'. Disgusting scenes.
Review: Is anyone 'Out There'? It's the question humankind has been asking itself since the dawn of eyeballs. Now 10AD is joining the celestial quest... And he's got a whole troop of badboy astronomers with him; Froidy, Nexus, MC Steve and Smuggler are all on board for this cosmic conundrum and the results are every bit as planet-colliding as you'd hope. From the gruff swing of 'Pure Evil' to the twisted spiralling sound design of 'Insane' via the alien textures and stutters of 'Room', there's a whole stack of evidence that other life forms don't just walk among us... They make drum & bass too. Essential misfit music.
