10 Years Of In:flux Audio
Various
Played by: RDubz, NAZA, Tik&Borrow
Review: The In:flux Audio crew have been delivering top quality music for a long time now, 10 years to be precise, and what better way to celebrate than to bring back a number of their heaviest hitters for a fiery collection. Featuring a truly outstanding roster, with the likes of Dr Oscillator, RDubz, Dystinkt, Pelikann and more, this is a great showcasing of what the In:flux sound has represented over the years. Despite being a vibrant collection from top to bottom, two tracks stand out immediately, with the liquified synthesiser swipes of Fork And Knife's 'Jank' and the gnarly, mechanical bass design of Tik&Borrow's 'Kharon' both being real flag flyers. What an achievement!

In The Dark EP
Review: We have another tasty helping of sonic sweetness from the In:flux Audio crew here as they welcome back the explosive flavours of 1point5, who unleashes four tracks of pure heat for us to enjoy. The introduction sees 'In The Dark' arrive, a smartly designed amalgamation of euphoric vocal presses, sticky synthesiser bubbles and spacey drum processing, before the more mystic melodies and stripped back drum designs of 'Settle' take us down a more magical avenue. From here, 'Last Time' pulls together a dizzying combination of blippy synthesiser hops and industrial guitar sweeps for a more metallic overhaul, before finishing the project off in the remix corner. We see Qwirk take up the mantle with his powerful overhaul of 'In The Dark', a gnarly rethink of the title track that gives the EP a nice final dash of spice.

Review: As ever with In:flux Audio, the team have worked their socks off to deliver another show stopping selection of dubstep flavour, this time giving the central role to 1point5. There is no disappointment to be had as 'Solar Signal' firstly kicks us off with a warbling selection of LFO-leads are met with tap dancing percussive pushes and a minimalist set of melodies, before the aquatic arrangements and devilish, twisting melodies of 'Backspace' steer us in a completely different direction. Next, 'Cassini' gives us a much more grizzly sound, with more swampy bass processing taking centre stage for this gnarly creation, before we move into two spicey remixes. Firstly, Ali McK & IYZ return to the In:flux fold for a glittering rework of 'Backspace', jam packed with interesting melodic twists, before Fork & Knife provides a super skippy rethink of 'Solar Signal', twisting it into a garage-inspired party boat.

Thundaga EP
Review: The boys at In:flux Audio are back at it again, this time unleashing a wicked link up EP between label founders: Tik&Borrow and the more recently acquired sounds of 1Point5. We begin with the breakbeat-stepper fusion of 'Thunder Dub', a futuristic electronic masterclass, jam packed with interesting rhythmic expressions and fluttering metallic melodies. Next, 'Dirty Sean' continues along a similar vibe with more raucous breakbeat action, focussing on a less intrusive but no less potent bassline below. As well as this, J.Kong gives 'Thunder Dub' a complete overhaul, sending in an army of LFO's to wonk out the dance in style!

Get Fluxed Volume V
Various
Review: Following on from another string of exciting releases, we are thrilled to see the return of In:Flux Audio, and the fifth edition of their extremely popular compilation series 'Get Fluxed'. The line up for the selection is potent to say the least, seeing high profile returns for the likes of J69, Nekst, Fiyahman, Swedger and more, along with the introduction of some eyebrow raising newcomers! For us the highlights on this one simply have to include the dancefloor destroying old school UKG flavours of 'The Massive Crew' from Sekt-87, along with Teotek's neurotic thrillride in 'Tunnel Driver'.

5 Years Of In Flux Audio
Various
Played by: Tik&Borrow
Review: The guys at In:Flux really do deserve a lot of credit for their tireless contributions to the UK bass scene over the last few months, having made themselves one of the most prominent Northern imprints within the wide span of the genre. We are here to celebrate and enjoy this compilation celebrating five years of activity from the label. They pull out all the stocks for sure, inviting the likes of Brent Kilner, Pavv, Pelikann, Dr Oscillator, J69 and more to join in the party, with our specific highlights coming from Tik&Borrow themselves, the leading forces behind the project. We look forward to many more years of the In:Flux wave continuing to run!

Highly Anticipated Volume 2
Various
Played by: Mr Brainz
Review: The Highly Swung second instalment of the Highly Anticipated series is back and out to annihilate all corners of the bass spectrum with thirteen absolutely rocking garage monsters for the modern ear! Big, bad and proud, the imprint launches a tasty selection of artists who are carrying on the UK' fine tradition of swinging beats and bouncy basslines, with peeps like 8th Note, Anonymous People, and James Lavonz all getting their own strains of club beats through to your speakers. Sexy, sleek and seductive, these are perfect party tunes which offer moody vibes to the headz, and the romantic swing for the lovers. Nice one!

In:flux Remixed Volume 1
Various
Played by: In:flux Audio
Review: In:Flux let rip with a second massive V/A album of the year and it's an all-out bass riot featuring some of the label's most exciting names and affiliates as they tear each other's cuts apart and rebuild them in their own unique (and consistently gully) ways. Highlights include the spring two-step savagery Pavv's own VIP "Don't Look", the sci-fi spookiness and graveyard bass of Tik&Borrow's take on "Jah Victory", KXVU's tripped out wave-synth take on Pelikann's "Laughing Cow" and Pelikann's jacking bassline take on "No 6". Not a dull moment, In:flux aren't messing around mate.

Get Fluxed Volume III
Various
Played by: In:flux Audio, Hadean
Review: Get Fluxed Volume III couldn't have come at a better time; the summer heat is out and these garage drums aren't exactly gonna play themselves now are they!? Featuring Martin McFly's infamous Nike spacers on the cover, this jam-packed comp of goodness features all of the label's biggest names and, of course, the creme-de-la-creme of UK house music. Sitting somewhere on the hardcore continuum between garage and breaks, the likes of Pharaoh K, Joedan, Pelikann and Krissi B, among others, set out what will surely be THE bass release of the summer in terms of DJ playback. This is the sort of gear you hear out on the beach at Pula's mighty Outlook festival. Sun's out, bass out.

Selection Box 2016
Various
Review: If we're talking bass, then In:Flux Audio surely has to be in the running for most prolific label of 2016. The unstoppable collective is always full of tricks up their sleeves, and this Selection Box compilation is exactly the sort of thing we wanted to hear from them; a rough and packed collection of their best and most definitive moments of last year. From pseudo jungle, weird, amorphic dubstep, and killer speed-house, there isn't much that sounds wring with this release, and even the most demanding of bass-heads are likely to find something that they'll churn out week after week, floor after floor.

Get Fluxed Volume II
Various
Review: Tik&Borrow's In:Flux Audio label has developed its strong reputation not least due to the duo's discerning ears. A new Get Fluxed comp always means more of their expertly curated selections. This time round there are 12 cuts that provide something for everyone on a bass tip. Highlights includes the buzzsaw breakbeats of T&B's own "Junction Box", the sinister afterhours garage of "Too Close" by Connerz and heady, dub-tech mayhem of Joedan's "High Times". Also an extra shout-out goes to the digi-dancehall roof-raiser "Get Funky" by King Hydra.

Perception
Review: Every now and then a producer comes along who changes the game with a forward thinking new approach to a familiar sound. Hailing from Leeds Dan Smith, aka 1Point5, is gearing up to be one of those guys. This, his latest for In:Flux, boasts three fresh new jams - the dubby, percussive moodiness of the title track, quirky, skippy 4 x 4 of "Brock 2000", a collaboration with GLVR, and the wobble/2-step mash up "Sun Comes Up". There are also three remixes, the best of which is the distorted crunch of Tik&Borrow's pounding rework.

Get Fluxed Volume I
Various
Review: In:Flux Audio open their first Get Fluxed compilation with the ludicrous bounce of Swedger's "Shellsuit Temptress", and it gets even sillier with the tinges of electro-swing in 1Point5's "Villian". There are more streamlined, deeper passages though, like Pavv's remix of "Hold Up" (neat vocal samples to boot) to Prude Lerude's "I Need Your Love". For beats more stripped and torn check Ramage's "Happy Days" and the Samphet's "Badman", but the best old school UKG flavours come through on Gammy and Mr LA productions. UK garage never sounded so 2015.

Chip Shop Vol 1
Various
Review: Having recently celebrated their tenth release, Sheffield's Chip Butty have now rounded up the cream of their roster for Chip Shop Vol 1. There are nine bangers featured here, all promising 'hard 4x4 beats mashed with twisted basslines'. They're not wrong either: highlights include label stalwart Dr Cryptic's pounding garage-step sing-a-long "Dirty Dot", the doomily orchestrated wobbler "Marching Powder" by Sekt 87 and the menacing speed garage of "Rude" by Little Mesters.

Review: For his debut on Phucked Recordings, 1Point5 has delivered a very impressively produced offering indeed. Intricate, 2-step infused beats jostle for supremacy with bouncy dubby bass notes and a slick vocal from Al Rolfe, before they conclude that basically they all win. Remix wise, Moxix opts for a synth heavy post dubstep reworking replete with crying baby sampling whilst Nu-Direction offers up a futuristic doomy D&B revision.
