Review: The crew over at LDH have provided us with a tasty bag of snacks for this one as they welcome the enigmatic production pallet of 7Kidz to the table, unveiling four sub-heavy rollers that all pack one heck of a slap. Firstly, 'Murder' arrives with a strong focus on gut-punching sub lines and bone-chilling synth melodies, before 'Vacuum' minimises the drums and amplifies those sub textures even further for a haunted, low-ended throwdown. Next up, 'Stomper' gives us a more march-like feel as unique drum sounds and a tide-like sense of atmosphere rises and falls with every new step, before 'Broken Dub' gives us one heck of a closer, focussing on sharply processed drum stabs and a more creeping synthetic feeling. A real box of treats!
Review: Basskruit have a knack for sniffing out the most unique and forward thinking dubstep talent out there, a theme they continue to hold a strong force within as they unleash the third edition of their 'Explosie' compilation series. First up, we dive into the subby depths of dubwise abandon as Kusmo delivers the slowly inhaling sweeps of 'Car Dub', with the gut-wrenching sub punches of Gulivr's '50Bukz' and the hard hitting snare licks of Chendah's 'Combine' in close pursuit. We then take in the beautiful sampling ability of Datra who delivers a spine-tingling thriller with 'Down The Cave', before the more traditional, system-esc sub curls of 'Stalker' from 7Kidz then close the project out in style. Another wicked edition to the 'Explosie' series for sure!
