Review: The Monologue EP is the first solo release from former Neovinyl and Society 3.0 producer A M I R since the autumn of 2015. It boasts two box-fresh original productions and a swathe of accompanying remixes. "The Monologue" is a woozy and tactile deep house bumper, where starry riffs and tipsy chords wrap themselves around swinging, basement-bothering beats and a rugged electronic bassline, while "Between Walls" is an altogether dreamier and breezier proposition, despite boasting a rich, dub-fuelled bassline. DJ Nav provides a sensual, organ-heavy remix of that track which draws inspiration from vintage New Jersey garage, while DJ Aakmael Unxpozd serves up an altogether deeper and more melodious take on "Monologue" that should impress those who like their deep house sweet and trippy.
