Review: Some seven years after they launched, Gianmaria Gamberini and Alberto Melloni's Raibano label, based in Rimini, Italy, bring us their first-ever label comp. The collection opens with the drifty Mediterranean deep house of Antonio Miele's 'Cold Blooded Romantic'. A-Tweed, Mau Maioli, Gamberini himself and Austher then serve up some dark, angular, electronic disco vibes - the latter two nudging towards techno and prog, respectively - before Berny & Nick Hanzo's 'Sirens Call' brings the 80s coldwave/Italo heat. Astroloop then rocks classic-style house tropes with 'The Sign', Melloni flirts with trance on 'Heat', Hey Cabrera's 'Go Down' is a dependable, 'beefa-friendly chugger with a vaguely New Order-ish feel while finally Azole's 'Caspita' plays us out with some proggy squelch.

Review: Up next on Sinchi is A-Tweed with an unusual release. The title track is based on crashing drums and is bathed in swirling acid, with A-Tweed weaving in off kilter vocal samples to add to the sense of drama. "Low Field Trance" isn't as frenetic, but it's just as distinctive. It revolves around a throbbing, pulsating groove, discordant sound effects and chilling synth lines, with these elements creating an irresistibly tripped out track. The label has also commissioned a number of remixers to interpret the original material. Sara Dzir's take on "Photosphere" is a tripped out, clubby affair, while the TAPAN version is a slow-burning downtempo track. Meanwhile, Roy Mills's take on "Low Field Trance" is focused on broken beats and dubbed out textures, while the Vardae interpretation is a ghostly, ambient soundscape.

Review: Italian trance and slow acid on this new and typically wacky Multi Culti release from modular brothers A-Tweed & Oltrefuturo. Hot off releases for Whypeopledance, Sinchi Collective, Duro and Nein, the crazy pair present a mini LP of maximum strength. Get on your tunnel vision for the slo-mo chugger "Android Riot", go further down the vortex on the psychedelic locomotion of "Ushuaia Bottellon" before being taken to a higher state on the euphoric indie-dance of "Jaipuri Kundan Ring". Elsewhere, we never mind a good hit of acid do we? The 303 centred throb job "King Hippo" has you covered.

Review: Six tracks from as many different artists make up this V/A offering from Richard Rossa's Stockholm-based Tom Tom Disco label. If you're looking for cowbells, handclaps and Philly strings, look elsewhere: the tracks here generally plough a far more electronic and leftfield-leaning furrow, blending influences from Italo, EBM, coldwave and early house. Frank Agrario's percussive, Afro-inspired 'Drum Circles' is the exception to that rule, but the standout for this writer is Guxi's 'Dribbling Disco', a mix of Italo and Chi-town tropes that periodically bursts out in unanticipated "proper disco" flourishes. Rabih Rizk's Middle Eastern-tinged 'Acid Drop' is good, too.
