Review: Debutant producer Absolute - thankfully not the Dutch trance don of the same name - hits the spot with "Mind Control", a brilliant tribute to vintage Chicago acid house complete with mind-bending analogue bass, clattering machine percussion and a attitude-heavy female spoken word vocal. It comes accompanied by a suitably percussive and warehouse-friendly Dub and two remixes by Rush Hour and Voyage Direct alumnus William Djoko. The Dutch producer first re-imagines "Mind Control" is a deep, dark and bass-heavy late night throb-job (the "Crowd Control" mix) before pressing the button marked "weird late night freak-out" on the low-slung "Mass Hysteria" mix.
