Review: There must be something in the water in Toronto because Aerodroemme make some of the most out-there minimal house ever released. Consisting of Steve Chan and Boris Kurtzman, Aerodoremme's sound is ethereal and atmospheric but at the same time does not forgo dance floor requirements. On "Inhale", the pair lay down a tripped out, acidic groove that provides the basis for floaty Eye Q-style trance melodies. Meanwhile "Exhale" sees them conjure up an equally unusual track - this time breathy textures unravel over a bleepy, chiming minimal rhythm, before a droning bass brings the arrangement to a climax. The label has commissioned some fine remixes; Ryan Lamont and Brendon Moeller's Echologist project turn "Exhale" into a twitchy, digi-dub techno slammer and a filtered, rolling groove respectively, while Orbital Mechanics' take on 'Inhale' is starry-eyed ambient workout- but none can match the pair's individualistic style.
