Review: After years as a promoter, club manager and music lover, Afshin now shares his love of music as a resident at Paris' most soulful club Djoon. With sets ranging from afro, house, funk or disco, he excels at gathering people through his music. Borrowing its name from a Persian word that can be translated to "soul", house temple Djoon has been tirelessly defending soulful music in it's largest sense for over a decade, bringing over emerging talents and timeless legends alike to the delight of its eclectic and forward thinking crowd. A shelter for dancers and music lovers alike, the first club of the city's 13th district was a first step for many artists, bringing guests such as Lil' Louis, Kerri Chandler, Black Coffee and Dixon to France for the very first time, plus playing a key role in bringing the afro-house sound to the old continent. While the original of "Dubbin' In Tehran" is as deep, soulful and funky as we like it, it really is all about Underground Quality head honcho Jus-Ed's intense and spiritually minded remix.
