Review: The GS Dubs team, being an offshoot of the incredibly consistent Garage Shared collective, are always pumping out exciting new drops, with this new compilation selection being one of the strongest in a hot minute. In anticipation of the clubs and raves reopening properly, they have gathered together ten original dancefloor anthems for garage DJ's the world over to enjoy. The tracklisting and roster is pretty monstrous, featuring tidy new creations from the likes of Tuff Culture, Chimpizm, K9, Deja, Aki and more of the active Garage Shared. There are a couple of real highlights for us, including the super spicy VIP mix of Miss L.A & Bunka's 'My Love', which was already a belter to begin with, alongside the choppy chord progressions and skippy percussive textures of 'Carbon' from Howden and system busting wobbles of ADuki's 'Make Noise'. With additional killer creations from Oh My Daze, Rebz & Ollie Weeks, this is definitely not a compilation to miss.

Review: We are always filled with excitement when we see a new Foundation Audio drop hit the shelves, especially with so much good dubstep around at the moment. They get busy here with a tasty four track offering from Aki, who kicks us off with the spooky bass phases and warbling LFO structures of 'Fruit Punch', before the crunchy drum textures and eerie pads of 'Peripheral' wade into play. Next, 'Sofa Schwenger' applies some incredibly potent triplet action to proceedings with a booming sub-line before we round the EP out with stunning drum breaks and constantly evolving compositional structures of 'Schizoid'. Awesome stuff as per!

Review: Well, when we see releases like this one move into view, it's difficult to describe UKG as anything other than thriving as we are gifted sixteen brand new belters, all stuffed full of nostalgic 2-steppy themes and fantastic vocal leads, showcasing just how strong the scene is looking right about now. We are introduced to a fantastic roster as major UKG players FooR, Soulecta, Blakk Habit, Rico Tubbs, Wittyboy and more are spread throughout the tracklisting, with our personal favourites including the super original, drum heavy grimey twists of 'Where I Wanna Be' from Vital Techniques and CB's super colourful 'Room 931'. Truly excellent work on this one!

Aki feat The Maker & Mr Mud
Review: What is better than a dash of original dubstep flavour? That's exactly what we have been blessed with here as Aki teams up with The Maker and Mr Mud for some swampy goodness on 'Straight Gully'. Coming courtesy of Subquake Audio, this one hits home with some super groovy LFO madness, reminiscent of old school Coki creations. We are also given two high energy remixes, with The Maker's being a more stripped back sub infused recreation. Mr Mud's follows and strips it back further, bringing organic drum design and spacious atmospherics into play. Very tasty indeed!

Review: The shape-shifting, corner-dwelling AKI joins Foundation Audio with six new murkers, each one supremely balanced and meditative. This, as you'd expect, is the deeper end of the dubstep spectrum, and while tunes like "Shimmer Dub" or "Spectre" might not tear it up on first listen, they can cause some serious hertz damage when played out loud and BIG! "Cesspool" stumbles in an off-kilter manner, boasting a tenebrous gust of bass at its core, while "Artefakt" feels like the more minimalistic extreme of the grime equation, which leads on nicely to the closing remix of "Shimmer Dub" from Chad Dubz, another impenetrable wall of low frequencies and pure heartical vibes. Bless up!
