Review: As the label's name suggests, "Force" was forged using a number of different elements. The beefy funk bassline sounds like a more rotund take on the time stretched bass that defined 90s 2-step, while the insistent techy chords and dramatic string stabs that shoot out during the breakdown sound inspired by the moody deep techno of artists like Envoy. The Madben remix adopts a more pragmatic approach, but despite this doesn't lapse into a generic narrative. It avoids this by using infectious thumb clicking percussion and a churning filter, which ensures that it's as memorable as it is effective.
