Review: On the second Morph instalment, Vince Watson's Amorphic project continues to impress. While he is best known for his musical, Detroit-influenced style, this release continues to forge a different more purist path. Razor sharp hi hats and resonating kicks guide "M015 (Part 1)" through a succession of droning soundscapes - the result comes across like Function jamming with Mike Parker. The second part of "M015" sees Watson explore a similar approach. This time, synths surge to a dramatic climax. Powered by wave upon wave of percussion and a relentless driving rhythm, it makes for a captivating, nuanced peak-time track, reaffirming Watson?s position as one of the great modern techno producers.
