Review: Earlier in the year, Multi Culti dropped the first collaborative album from MD Pallavi and Andi Otto, a decidedly cosmic and otherworldly, but undeniably alluring and accessible affair entitled 'Songs For Broken Ships'. This expansive remix package sees a wealth of artists give their spin on tracks from the set. The hits keep coming through out, from Simon De Kunovich's bleeping, intoxicating and heady deep house interpretation of 'Prayer To The Clouds', and Auntie Flo's South African Kwaito-influenced re-wire of 'Clockshop', to Bliz Nochi and Emi Jourjou's head-nodding downtempo rework of 'Velvet Flicker' and Poligra's sitar-sporting outsider house take on 'Puglisi'. Hannah Lee's deep, dark and tribal version of 'Prayer To The Cloud' is also very special.

Review: There's a time for accessible podium belters, and there's a time for deeper jams that aren't afraid to take a left turn now and again. This five-tracker is one to reach for when you're firmly into the latter zone, as Multi Culti serve up a collection of eyes-down, late-night cuts that mine various global musics for inspiration: Sheila Chandra has been a stalwart of the British Asian music scene for 40 years, Sababa 5's 'Nasnusa' is a take on a classic Mizrahi song, while the title of 'Amakondera' references a style of Rwandan music that uses horn- and gourd-based wind instruments. An EP that will delight those whose tastes lean towards the exotic and the less familiar.

Review: Maintaining a fresh approach to releasing and compiling music, Agogo out of Austria presents the second volume of their Two Tribes series. Bringing together 14 tracks from a plethora of artists, the LP keeps with its MO of building a musical bridge between Africa and Europe. A highlight straight off the bat is Alma Negra's "Oh Mar" next to the equally subby grooves of Rabii Harnoune & V.B. Kuhl's "Invitation To Dance". More afro-futuristic elements come into play thanks to tracks by Kaleo Sansaa, Lua Preta and Dowdelin's soulful downtempo joint, "Vis La Vie". Other spiritual jazz comes through Karthala 72's "Heavy Revolution", David Nesselhauf and The Kutimangoes "Money Is The Curse", to more vocal numbers by Guts, Onipo's "Yenimo", and Octa Push, Alai K & Isaac Anyanga's "Nyatiti".

Review: Hamburger Andi Otto's Bow Wave LP from earlier this year gets the cult remix treatment here on Thomas Von Party's Berlin based imprint. Man of the moment Nicola Cruz gets some Ecuadorian folklorica vibes happening as always on "Bow Wave", "The Taste Of Bamboo" gets deep into the exotic, sitars tablas and all - courtesy of Sao Paulo's R Vincenzo's remix (Voodoohop Collective). But they save the best for last with "Six" (featuring the seductive vocal chants of one MD Pallavi) which receives two remixes: the first is a lo-slung psyched-out epic by Parisian Golden Bug, and then the Center Of The Universe remix - where the Norwegian delivers a truly meditative exercise in trance induction.
