Review: Andezz has done the liquid rounds for quite a while now, having released previously on labels like V Recordings and Liquid V, and his style is always wispy but tough, with the melancholia of all good liquid but without the emptiness of some. Regina joins him to adds a vocal lick to his production and her voice sounds amazing on top of his rolling, piano-laden instrumental base, the track progresses nicely and it's a great example of how liquid producers can strip things back but keep things tight. Excellent single.

Shield provides the ultimate opener with the jaunty horn-hazed "Skippy" before a rainbow of softer, jazzier and deeper tones continue to assault our souls... Bossman Redeyes gets a breezy flip from erstwhile Headz running mate Lenzman on "What She Wants", veteran break sculpter Kabuki lets his hair down on the hip-hop jam "Home Run", Satl cosmicifies his step arrangement on the dreamy "Miss U", Monty brings some warm textured keys, Gerra & Stone add a little murk to GLXY while Arkiak cooks up some kicks that are wider and heavier than your house. And they're just some of the many highlights.

Review: Expect lush soundscapes and laidback beats to predominate in this release from Andrezz on Soul Deep Recordings. "Compassion", this release's eponymous track, gets things started with a flurry of drum work, explorative sweeps and a gently murmuring b-line. "Landscape" goes deeper down the rabbit hole, going in on a super sparse tip, before "Hopes"returns us to a more sonorous, upbeat moment with pattering beats and quirky instrumental flourishes. "Emotional Pain" is full of impassioned beats, the sound of waves crashing on the shore and lilting, off-key piano keys. Finishing up with "Let The Groove Move", Andrezz finishes the EP on a sultry note.
