Review: Horse Meat Disco and Dave Lee previously collaborated on a number of tracks for the former's fine debut album, Love and Dancing, so it's no surprise to see them revisit their previous hook-up with Angela Johnson, 'Dancing Into The Stars'. Lee kicks off proceedings with a 'Super Soulful' mix that joins the dots between warming deep, soulful house, colourful jazz-funk and joyous boogie, before Horse Meat Disco channel the spirit of Patrick Cowley on their throbbing 'Dub Wise Vocal Mix'. Arguably best of all though is the EP-closing 'extended DJ Friendly edit', a ten-minute chunk of celebratory disco-boogie brilliance that's as positive, sunny and cheery as you'd expect.

Mistura feat Angela Johnson
Review: Last year Dave Lee AKA Joey Negro released his first single under the long-running Mistera alias (one of a dozen or so pseudonyms he's used throughout his production career) for almost five years. It's taken a little less time to deliver the follow-up, a deliciously positive chunk of real disco/soulful house fusion featuring the distinctive vocals of long-serving chanteuse Angela Johnson. Each of the three mixes is rather good, all told, with the sweet and summery "Disco Blend" version - all live instrumentation, swirling strings and soaring vocals - being our pick of a strong bunch (though the solo-laden "Sunburst Keys Mix" instrumental is also rather good).

Review: Joey's live band get geared up for the summer with a brand new single. It's been a while since we heard any brand new material - almost four years in fact - but, as with pretty much all of Dave Lee's projects, it's been worth the wait. With soothing harmonies, infectious percussion, a gutsy bass groove and lavish strings, it's an instant heart warmer with instant appeal. For those looking for a more stripped back groove, head directly to the Latin Escapade dub where you'll hear that slick, strolling bass in all its live glory. There's also an instrumental, reprise AND accapella on offer, meaning no DJ need is left out. Truly sun-splashed, let's hope it encourages some better weather...
