Review: Tale Of Us curates the next volume of their epic compilation series Unity, featuring contributions from a cast of talent located all over the world. Part 3 maintains the same premise as the previous installments, gathering together a massive collection of 39 tracks designed to transport you into another realm. ANNA kicks off proceedings with the mesmerising dance floor drama of "Cosmovision" feat. Ravid, label staple Colyn takes you deep into the aether on the melodic bliss of "Unstable Gravity Alert" and esteemed German producer Recondite takes you on a descent further down the spiral on the brooding "Runner". Elsewhere, representing the new school, the ascendant Kevin de Vries nails that perfect main room techno sound on the epic "Biohazard", as does Innealea with the slinky and hypnotic "Targo", while scene veterans Argy and Dino Lenny represent their vintage with some equally impressive contributions in the form of "Mental Powers" and "Breathe" respectively.

Review: It was always going to be a hard act to follow the heavyweight line-up of label founders and main artists that featured on Speicher 100, but Anna has not been outdone. The Brazilian-Spanish producer's sound is at the harder end of what the storied Kompakt sub-label usually releases, but it's still of the highest quality. "Hidden Beauties" is a big room, acid-heavy workout powered by a grungy bass and massive break downs and builds. On "The Dansant", the mood is even bleaker; Anna drops an evil, belching sub that provides the back drop for rolling snares and a visceral, filtered riff.

Review: Acclaimed Italian duo Tale Of Us present the third Realm Of Consciousness compilation on Afterlife Recordings. A collection of spellbinding and melodic epics packed full of narratives plus plenty of dancefloor drama awaits with some rather surprising additions too - artist wise. The German hero Recondite serves up the powerful opening track "Savaaq" with its tension and suspense and those soaring melodies, fellow Italians Mind Against team up with Blausch on the hypnotic bliss of "Trust My Eyes" and Ukranian deep techno experts Woo York give us the steely heads down techno of "Discovery". Elsewhere, southern Italians Agents Of Time appear with the adrenalised and entrancing cyclicality of "Superia", frequent Tale Of Us collaborator Vaal takes you deep into the aether on "Weakness Days" and ascendant German Kevin De Vries gets into freefall on the sublime "Phoenix"

Review: Recent Kompakt signing Anna Miranda teams up with Miss Kittin for this frenetic, visceral ode to raving. In its original format, "Forever Ravers" resounds to a grinding bass, peak-time rhythm and Kittin's own unmistakable vocals about being eternal ravers. On the flip side, there's a fine reshape from Anna; the 'Raving In Space' remix sees her deliver a peak time arrangement, this time with wave upon wave of cold bleeps building up to an unforgettable climax. It's great to see Miss Kittin back releasing music, and Speicher 112 also provides the platform to showcase the production skills of her Brazilian collaborator.

Review: Emerging artist Anna rounds off a remarkable year of releases - including an EP on NovaMute - with this second EP for Kompakt's sub-label. Like her fellow Brazilian artist Gui Boratto, "Remembrance" sees Anna fuse euphoric neo-trance hooks with a searing, epic bass and a stepping rhythm. The "Alt" mix is even more effective than the main mix thanks to its euphoric break down and wild, psychedelic build. The Barcelona-based producer shows a different side to her musical canon on "When I Am Only a Dream". Tougher and more stripped back than "Remembrance", it sees drop the kind of searing, acid-soaked minimal track that will slay big rooms and smoky basements alike.

Review: It's that time again: Cologne institution Kompakt return with their annual round up of what's hot in contemporary house and techno - all with the distinct hallmarks in harmony with their aesthetic: deep, intelligent and absolutely evocative. Rest assured that all the usual suspects appear - label stalwarts such as Jorg Burger, Jurgen Paape, Gui Boratto and of course head honchos the Voigt brothers. Elsewhere there are some regulars and newbies alike such as Los Angeleno Sonns on the sun-kissed and tripped-out "Tame" (feat Beesh), veteran John Tejada with the bold melodics of "Detector" (a cut from his brilliant new Dead Start Program LP), lo-slung cosmo-balearica by Ghost Vision on "Zuul" and the legendary Jake Williams aka Rex The Dog on the epic dance floor drama of "Crasher". Another tremendously curated compilation that's essential listening.

Review: Has it really been fifteen years already for Monika Kruse's Terminal M imprint? Gosh time flies but oh well; let's celebrate and commemorate in style. There's various moods and grooves on offer here. Anna's ?Where Are You Now?? is a dark and tunnelling techno number with enough funk for summertime dancefloors. Pig & Dan are still around and showing off their ever evolving style; this time teaming up with Mark Reeve for some sweet progressive house on ?Daydreamer?. Staying on the euphoric proggy tip also is Henri Matisse with the surefire ?Gear?. The power trio of Luca M, Just2 and Alex Rise gives us the sexy rolling tech house of ?No Obstacles? that you could imagine Richie Hawtin or Carlo Lio smashing out at peak time on the island.

Review: The Clash Lion label may be based in the sunny climes of Barcelona, but there is nothing happy about this release. On the title track, Brazilian DJ Anna delivers a killer big room techno roller, supported by soaring, building acid lines, industrial riffs and firing, relentless hi-hats. It's a stunning peak-time track that is sure to slay dance floors with its Hardfloor-style break down. By contrast "Impression" starts off in far deeper and reflective mode, with a drawn out intro that is reminiscent of Vapourspace's classic "Gravitational Arch 0f 10", before it kicks into a searing acid-soaked rhythm. Rounding off this killer dance floor release are the tight break beats and industrial riffs of "Into the Void."

Review: ANNA is up next on Afterlife with three upfront techno excursions on Journey To The Underworld. The Brazilian producer's style techno may at first seem a surprising choice for the label, but it is soon apparent that she has meticulously tailored her sound to fit their style with her blend of 'tough beats with transcendent atmospheres.' She goes full force from the beginning on the austere, peak-time energy of the title track, while "Surrender" is a more majestic cut, taking you deeper into the aether with its sublime tapestry of melodies, and ending with the blissed-out transcendence of "Dissolution" - an ambient offering.

Review: This third volume of the Twin Turbo compilation is a timely reminder of Turbo's consistency when it comes to delivering varied dance music. The TRACE7000 remix of Jakwob's "Feel So Good" is a pulsating, acidic track, while Kill Frenzy ups the intensity levels with the swampy electronics and ghetto jack of "Follow Me". In contrast, ANNA's "Artha" is a sleek affair, its linear rhythm supporting tranced out rhythms, while on "Build Up Your House", Hoshina Anniversary delivers a modern take on Chicago jack, with repetitive vocals underpinned by a grainy rhythm. Label owner Tiga also makes an appearance, with Dense & Pika delivering a techy take on his version of Public Enemy's "Louder Than A Bomb".

Review: Cologne powerhouse Kompakt have continually defined a unique aesthetic as label - deep, atmospheric and absolutely evocative. For the 19th edition of their revered Total series - The Voigt Brothers & Co. curate another splendid compilation featuring the very best in international electronic music from the last year, taking in a wide variety of styles, tempos moods and grooves - yet all with the label's distinct taste. Highlights (and there's many!) came courtesy of: local Gewolbe Club resident Jonathan Kaspar with the mesmerising dancefloor drama of "Renard", label co-founders Tobias Thomas & Michael mayer teaming up on the sexy lo-slung groove antics of "Total Anders", label staple and all round Berlin legend Sascha Funke delivers a typically quirky and oddball groove on "Aus Der Lamang". Elsewhere, you can get your tunnel vision on with the ever reliable Rex The Dog on "Vortex", the ascendant Anii from Poland takes you deep into the rainforest on the tribal trance of "Ride The Tiger" and ANNA from Brazil provides some dystopian narratives for the dancefloor on "Remembrance".
