Review: Maga's first '...and friends' compilation on Children of the Future, which appeared in the summer of 2020, was an expansive, 36-track beast that boasted a wealth of high-grade material from a mixture of established producers and rising stars. This belated sequel is a little more manageable - a solid 13 tracks this time round - but no less alluring. In fact, such is the high quality level throughout, picking highlights is tough, though our current favourites include the druggy, chugging dancefloor psychedelia of WhoMadeWho's 'Panopticon', the gently melodious and uplifting progressive house revivalism of Tim Engelhardt's 'Insides', the All Day I Dream style melodious dreaminess of MIICHII's 'Together', the Afro-tinged tropical house bounce of 'Modern Liquidity' by Rapha Fernandes and the warming, wall-of-sound roll of Maga's 'Tell Me'.

Review: Veteran British DJ/producer Anthony Middleton is back on his Do Not Sit On The Furniture label. As one half of acclaimed duo Audiofly, to co-running their Supernature label and Flying Circus brands, Middleton continues to be a leader in electronic music. His newest offering is "Wheel Of Life'' which explores the typically deep and sensual side of tech house that you've come to expect from him, incorporating Middle Eastern percussion and vocals plus a hint of acid for good measure. Next track "Magic Touch" is much more upbeat and energetic, but still retains a dreamy and ethereal quality within its rich tapestry of melody.

Review: According to the label, Global Entry is a place for psychedelic, left-field music, and it sounds like they have succeeded in their approach. This compilation starts with the slightly ominous, mid-tempo chugging groove of Iorie's "Dangerous Love", before moving into "El Teatro de lso Suenos" from PAAX (Tulum). Based on a similar tempo, it goes deeper, with evocative vocals unfolding over piano keys and a melancholic groove that calls to mind Ibizan sunsets. Anthony Middleton of Audiofly fame adds some techy beats on "Energy is Currency" but even here the mood remains reflective thanks to the use of dreamy synths and a female vocal intoning the words to Simon & Garfunkel's evergreen the Sound of Silence.

Review: Alongside the likes of yourself, you can bet that Mark Knight & Co. will be also be a known presence at Amsterdam Dance Event in 2018 and indeed they'll be well prepared with the appropriate tools - as this killer compilation proves. Highlights on this annual edition come from Maceo Plex - whose remix of "Nervous Tics" (feat Holly Walker) by hot British duo Maribou State takes you to the dark side, label chief Knight's massive rework of Sterling Void's eternal anthem "It's Alright" (feat Paris Brightledge) will surely get the hands in the air, as will Adesse Versions' edit of legend Kerri Chandler's "The Boom Can" and many others over the collection's five dozen tracks. To take you through every part of your trip, the album comes complete with three perfectly crafted and perfectly primed mixes.
