Review: For the latest release on his consistently impressive Love Attack label, Alan Dixon has turned to sometime True Romance, Another Rhythm and Frabk Musik contributors AP and Gimbere. Title track 'Be Careful What You Wish For' is the undoubted highlight: a dark, throbbing, muscular slab of Dutch style electro-disco powered forwards by a weighty, restless groove, and smothered in rising and falling synthesiser lines. That said, the surging, techno-tempo rush of 'Out of My Hands' - which makes use of elements borrowed from a legendary 1980s Chicago track of the same name - is almost as alluring and many times more positive-sounding.

Review: Amsterdam's (Philippe) Gimbrere teams up once more with his on/off partner-in-crime AP, AKA Maltese producer Owen Micallef, for an outing on Tensnake's True Romance label. 'Love On The Rocks' is a big and balls-y club track from the more commercial side, fusing elements of house, 80s synth-pop and trance into an energetic, euphoric concoction topped with a singalong female vocal that's sure to do the do on the kinds of floors it's aimed at. There are (radio-length) Original and Extended rubs to choose from, while the similarly themed but instrumental and more synth-driven 'Add Up' completes the package.

Review: Having previously plied his wares on XXXY's disco-house-championing Sour Edits imprint, A/P transfers to another similarly minded imprint, Pomme Frite. The headline attraction of this first EP for the fried-food loving editors is arguably title track "You", a Soundstream style disco-house loop jam made in cahoots with fellow producer Husko. It rises in falls in all the right places, striking a fine balance between locked-in loops and extended sections of summery disco samples. If you're looking for something altogether sweatier, we'd recommend he breathless cut-up disco-house hedonism of "Terrace Fever", which is subsequently beefed up even more on Dance System's weighty "World Cup Mix".
