Review: The Incurzion Audio crew have delivered a box of gems with this latest Ape Suit outing, unveiling three original creations that deliver a vibrant array of themes to say the least. First up, the slightly slower drum stutters and bubbling reese snarls of 'Hoodie Up', a slightly unnerving combination of harmonic structure and synth sweeps, setting off the EP nicely. Next, 'Headpiece Filled With Straw' acts as a leash-hold, occasionally losing its grip as gnarly synth growls emerge, writhing left, right and centre atop an arrangement of eastern-inspired melodies. Finally, 'Justified' gives us another slower roller, focussing on buzzy subs and unpredictable drum skips, giving us a final manoeuvre we won't forget in a hurry.

Review: Deeper DNB ain't lying when they say Deep Cuts Volume 1 - a fresh compilation highlighting the core sonics of the label's sound inspired by the bonafide bassweight structures of its artists. Sym:bol's goes large on "Undecided" next to Advena's thumping yet stripped back "Incognita" - or for something a touch mellower, check out the swing of Ape Suit's "Forest For The Trees". With the quality of the productions coming through in what sounds like a top mastering job all the more, don't look past Wik Sha's futuristic "ABD", Cynical Gene's heavy hitting "Nucleus" and Loma's well-proper bassline workout in "Watches". Review: Dubstep as a whole is in a very healthy place right now, and artists pushing the boundaries of 140 music as a whole across the globe is a big factor behind that. This latest four track delight from Ape Suit is a perfect example of that creativity in action as we kick off with the murky undergrowth and lethal yet subtle reesey tones of 'Abounding Happiness'. Next, 'Human Adult' takes us down a road of crunchy percussive genius and gnarly bass rolls, before the more high tempo drum arrangements and colourful melodic synth textures of 'Tromp L_OEIL' drag us down a different avenue entirely. Finally, 'The End' is a perfect closer, combining warm, fuzzy bass tones with more delicate drum work with incredible results. Awesome work!

Review: Next up from Ape Suit comes a very exciting four-track EP, taking the extensive title of 'Time Passes, Things Happen, People Change'. This title would insinuate a more introspective production approach, which is exactly what we find when we open the project, kicking off with the melodic synthesizer and moogy pulse hybrid of 'Everyone Is Everyone'. Next, the choppy drum skips and interesting vocal processing of 'Had To Be' gives us something a little different, before 'How Do You Feel' combines sweeping reesey textures with chiming melodic switch-ups for another brilliant creation. Finally, 'The Universe Is My Cat delivers an outstanding piece of soundscaping, perfect for rounding off this very clever project.
