Review: Sigha's Our Circula Sound label continues its commitment to new names in well-manicured but hard hitting techno with Ophidian, the debut EP from Arcing Seas. The title track wastes not time in going for the jugular, with a solid kick drum slowly becoming engulfed in a tidal swell of jagged bass and ethereal string textures. "Amniotic" meanwhile is considerably more subdued in its approach, with a gentle pulse flecked with rattling percussive blips, but "Gauntlet" sees a return to tougher terrain, with an undulating acid-corroded bassline pushing its insistent pulse forward.
