Review: Co Lab have had a real whale of a time of it over the last 20 years, with this fabulous offering from across their long standing roster being just a dip into the depth they have provided the scene over the last two decades. Covering a wide range of sounds, we see the more neurotic side of drum & bass on display within Dunk's 'Voodoo Song' and the A-Audio & Anya Asia link up named 'I'll Come Back', next to the more classic junglist flavour of Bladerunner & Heists 'Street Beats' in close pursuit. This is a package stuffed to the brim with rave-ready gems, with highlights including the old school drum slices of Aries & Nicky Blackmarket's 'Respect', next to the super unpredictable bass warbles of Jeaopardize's 'Hindsight'.

Review: Jungle Cakes always tend to put out music that rests on the foundations of UK underground, the cross-over influences of soul, reggae, jungle and D&B. it's always a fresh sound and it always brings up connotations of Boomtown, free parties and sunny afternoons. This is a monster album curated by Aries and Kelvin 373, who have taken tracks both old and new to form a banging compilation. Bou nails it on 'Music Takes Me Higher', a rustic revisit to classic jungle sounds; Aries and Nicky Blackmarket roll things out in a tight way on 'Champion'; and Chimpo slams the brakes on 'DidDieDoThat'. We don't know the answer to that, but we do know this is fat. Big ups.

Two legends of the scene - Aries and Nicky Blackmarket, have teamed up for a dual EP and it's wicked. 'One Part Jungle' is best of the four, with a bright and cheerful introduction that's laden with samples and flipped into a wobbling, subby roller with oodles of energy and momentum. 'Jack It Up' goes down a more jungle direction and is packed full of punchiness and sharp edges - banger.
