Review: Hoorah! The much anticipated debut album from Leeds' Afrobeat heroes, Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra, has finally arrived. To the previously uninitiated recent teaser single, Future Ancestors, revealed influences ranging from Fela Kuti, to James Brown and Tony Allen. Here are seven more remarkably accomplished tracks including the dub-rock "Old Ground", the jazzy, piano-led "Blood In The Water", the intense blaxsploitation-riffage of "Turncoat" and the wah-wah and Hammond-fest of the title track.

Review: Leeds' Afrobeat heroes, Ariya Astrobeat Arkestra came together a few years ago over a shared love of Fela Kuti, James Brown and Tony Allen and have quickly built up an enthusiastic following. This two-track single gives a good indication of what to expect from their celebrated live shows. "Future Ancestors" displays some pretty tight guitar and bass work that serves as a backbone for some freeform jazz and brass stylings. "Get On The Floor" is pure funk, with 60s organ meeting 70s riffage for some dancefloor magic.
