Review: The third volume in Tasty Recordings' ongoing "It's So Disco" compilation series more than lives up to its title, serving up a sizzling selection of bold, party-hearty dancefloor workouts rich in funk-fuelled disco samples. There's nothing here that could be described as "disco" in the purist sense, just fun and occasionally furiously fast club cuts that are guaranteed to set dancefloors alight. Our picks include the rushing, full throttle '80s disco-meets-disco-house insanity of Jack Le Funk's "Funk Off", the pitched-up, funk-fuelled disco-house stomp of Serial Thrilla's "Everybody Dance", the slap bass-propelled mid-tempo bump of Boogie Freaks' "Bring The Old School Back" and the mash-up brilliance of Discotron's "Doin' Their Own Thing", which somehow manages to join the dots between Coldcut's "People Hold On", original disco, '80s electro and disco-house.
