Review: The third volume in Tasty Recordings' ongoing "It's So Disco" compilation series more than lives up to its title, serving up a sizzling selection of bold, party-hearty dancefloor workouts rich in funk-fuelled disco samples. There's nothing here that could be described as "disco" in the purist sense, just fun and occasionally furiously fast club cuts that are guaranteed to set dancefloors alight. Our picks include the rushing, full throttle '80s disco-meets-disco-house insanity of Jack Le Funk's "Funk Off", the pitched-up, funk-fuelled disco-house stomp of Serial Thrilla's "Everybody Dance", the slap bass-propelled mid-tempo bump of Boogie Freaks' "Bring The Old School Back" and the mash-up brilliance of Discotron's "Doin' Their Own Thing", which somehow manages to join the dots between Coldcut's "People Hold On", original disco, '80s electro and disco-house.

Review: Manchester's Audio Jacker first released back in 2008. Since then he's graced many labels including Hed Kandi, but its safe to say the Tasty Recordings is where he calls home. Here is, back where the heart is, with a dynamite new jam, For The Love Of House. Yes he's taken that speech (or at least a variation of it) and applied it to a muscular 4/4 funky house beat with plenty of brassy, sassy funk back up. If the speech is too much, there's also a dub version. Discotron also presents a slower, warmer Balearic version too.

Houston
Houston - (5:16) 126 BPM Hot
Review: UK based Audiojacker is a prolific guy indeed releasing absolutely loads of his precision made, disco sample-based floorfillers every few weeks on Tasty Recordings. Here he has taken Thelma Houston's disco classic 'Don't Leave Me This Way", and does what he does best - filtering and compressing it to within an inch of its life and adding some hysteria-inducing electro-house contemporariness.

The More I Get - (7:08) 130 BPM Hot
You Want It - (5:16) 128 BPM
You Want It (dub mix) - (5:16) 128 BPM

Review: With releases for Hed Kandi and LU10 Records under his belt, Manchester house head Audio Jacker steps up on this new single with a huge slice of classic disco-house in the shape of "The More I Get". Using a simple eight bar disco/boogie sample, AJ simply destroys proceedings with some sly filter moves and a relentless house beat layered right underneath. On the flip, he repeats the technique on the equally glitterball-friendly "You Want It", which rocks some killer strings and an equally sweet, Chic-like bassline.

In The Mix EP
In The Mix - (5:52) 128 BPM Hot
Filters Revenge - (5:22) 128 BPM
In The Mix (dub mix) - (5:52) 128 BPM
Review: Following hot on the heels of his self titled album, Audio Jacker drops this three track EP of shimmering house on the always fun Tasty Recordings. First up is "In The Mix", which borrows the classic 'in the mix' vocal snatch, then loops and chops it to wonderful effect against a backdrop of killer high end strings and a club house bassline. The dub version is more suitable for the warm up sets, while "Filters Revenge" combines some nice slap bass with compressed effects and synth flourishes for a tune straight out of the Kris Menace school of filtered house.
