Review: Gyro bossman Shane Audiomission jumps aboard the good ship Nuusic with Cramz and Redders for the latest instalment of the label's Dub Culture series. Living up to its name Proper Tingz is a full-vibe package with lavish spittage from Redders over a powerful rolling groove. Also included is an excellent VIP of Audiomission's earliest appearance on the Welsh label; Kick Da Flava. Still armed with that killer sample, more oomph in the bass gives it a whole new twist. Proper!

Review: Following releases on the likes of Delta9, Informal, DNB Allstars and Deep In The Jungle, Gyro bossman Audiomission continues flexing across the labels with this massive wedge of bangers on Liondub International. Badness business as usual: each cut packs a twisted punch with a prowling sense of darkness and tension and features a range of high level collabos. 'Badman Style' (with DJ Gaw) slaps with voodoo bass harmonics, 'Shifted' is a serious bassline tear-up while the title track is pure fighting talk with trilling high frequency bassline and its crisp hench drums. High grade.

Review: This various artists release from Born on Road is packed full of twisted sounds for you wrap your noggins around, and there's a sick blend of aesthetics and styles amongst all the filth. 'Turbulent Times' by Gray and Rider Shafique is wobbly and rolling, it packs all of its energy into the sub-bass and just flows out with style alongside some wicked MC work. 'Pieces of Eight' by Trex is a monstrosity of energy, with a superb drum section that packs more character into the arrangement than you can wag a finger at, whilst Bruk edges in over the top with 'Waps', showing what a hefty dose of technoid energy can bring to the beat. Big.

Review: To cap off their three-part anniversary celebrations, Nuusic are laying down the heat on instalment number three. Teej has been one of the main players throughout this series, and with 'War Cry', a minimal roller with the guts of a lion and the roar of one too, as finger-clicking drums bear the weight of something much heavier, a snarling bassline that moves in devilish twists and turns. The vibes are also seriously real on J Select's cut, a spacious number that moves in gruff fits and starts, a barking cut with a catchy sample that smacks of proper rave memories. There's luscious depth on 'Always Be Mine', Speaker Louis and Epicentre finish off the series with the stuttering breaks of 'Unity'. What an LP series and congrats to the crew on three years.

Review: From Span with love: South Yard one-up the dickens out their game with their first V/A album. 21 tracks heavy and packed with every skanky, bashy and rolling shade of jungle they've become known for during their three year rise so far. All the mandem present and correct, the likes of Veak, Vital Elements, RMS, Jamie Bostron and many more all join Kursiva for this major league brock-out with savage highlights hanging, swinging and leaping from every corner. Highlights include the flabby bass groans of T.Kay's "Oh! Dread", Kid Mix-A-Lot's euphoric dibby dibby dancefloor smasher "The Stopper" and Ricky Tuff & Brian Brainstorms teeth-baring tear-up "Las Teresitas". Adios amigos!

Review: Not to be confused with the Julia Roberts classic, the Sound of Nuusic isn't a Bavarian epic but instead a UK underground epic of compilation sized proportions, with a whole raft of underground talents offering up a diverse concoction of jungle flavours. With Conrad Subs making several appearances, his stand-out contribution is 'Leave Dem', with a funked-up loping introduction that's seriously smooth but which quickly devolves into a stuttering balance of breaks and reece bass action. There's wicked jungle contributions from Kumarachi and RMS as well as Sheffield upstart Charla Green, whose knock-down breaks carry some serious weight. This is a must-listen for anyone who likes their jungle music.

Review: Run Tingz are a Bristol based imprint that seek to project the Bristolian sound all across the U.K. That sound is a hypnotic blend of ragga influences, jungle vibes and rolling, bassy tones of the type that blow up Bristol dancefloors on an almost daily basis. For their Best of 2018 album they've rolled out the big guns for a fat compilation featuring the likes of Bladerunner, Kursiva, Dossa and Brian Brainstorm so you know it's going to be good. 'Sound Killer' by Bladerunner is typical of this; funky, upbeat ragga sampling and sick vocals from Fuchaman with an underpinning of junglist vibes and pulsing basslines. The rest of the album is just as good - go cop it.

Review: Run Tingz is a uniquely Bristolian outlet that consistently pushes that feel-good yet dirty vibe so endemic to the Bristol D&B scene - arguably the best in the world. This LP combines the reggae-influenced jungle sound with a more edged out sense of darkness, the former of which exemplified by 'My Sound' featuring Deanie Rankin: its recreation of Curtis Mayfield's 'Move On Up' is especially cool. Brian Brainstorm contributes an absolutely fire jungle riddim that just does everything right: bright reggae sampling, hard-hitting breakbeats and diving swirl of wobbling sines and reeces. When you listen through this album you can almost see the bucket-hat donning and wavey shirt wearing Bristolian crowd going nuts - pick it up.
