Review: We were very excited to see Mr. K making a full solo return to the legendary Wheel & Deal imprint for a highly anticipated four tracker. We kick off with the title track 'Baka' which is a groovy dubwise hybrid, bringing smooth oscillations and dubby drums into unison. Following this we have the epic swinging bass synths of 'IP13' and the ludicrously powerful sub shaking sounds of 'Dafuq'. The EP then rounds of perfectly with Mr. K's swampy redesign of AxH's 'Devil Shogun'.

Review: Brighton's Max Mudie is a name we have seen floating around the dubstep world for quite some time now and we are pleased to see him finally picking up the recognition he deserves as he touches down on the ever dependable Hatched imprint. We kick off with 'Akarn', a gloomy roller filled with dubwise drum processing and spooky overtones. This is followed by the stunning percussive breathiness of 'Hoods Croft' before the aquatic bubbles of 'Wray' sink us in a sea of sub pressure. Finishing up the originals we have the stunning vocal layering and crunchy rhythms of 'YMR', before Max jumps on remix duty himself with vibrant junglist twist on AXH's 'Tunnel Through'.

Review: The In:flux team appear to have continued their monthly theme of leveling up with every release as they unveil a top notch display from AxH, unleashing two monstrous steppers originals for us all to enjoy. The project begins with systemized sub-pulses and hypnotic vocal slices of 'Hands Of Time', sending us deep underground right from the off with a fantastic showcasing of low-end flavour. On the flip side to this, we then move into the sounds of 'Pizza Face', which again, utilizing a more old school approach, combines bleeping bass melodies with organic sounding percussion and eerie chimes for a solid B-side. Both of these are perfect for the late night ravers, calling back to some original dubstep flavour with a real feeling of style and finesse.

Review: There is no doubt that in regards to the quality of sound, dubstep is going through a real renaissance period, with the levels never being higher. Therefore, when we see the likes or Artikal Music teaming up with the super consistent AxH, we can't help but get excited at the prospect. We kick off this lively two tracker with 'Monkey Brainz', a blippy combination of stuttered bass pops and glittering melodic action, giving the whole piece a real industrial feel. On the flip, the energy levels go up a tad as 'Boxknife Chrome' gives us some more system-ready magic, deploying super energetic drum rhythms and eerie pad-lines above an unpredictable selection of bass instrumentation. It's weird, whacky, wonderful and we can't get enough!

Review: After a string of high profile appearances, AXH sets out with a marvelous new five track spectacular on the legendary Boka imprint. Straight from the title track 'Tokyo' we are introduced to what AXH is all about with it's rolling distorted subs and dubbed out drum work. Next up we move into the dynamic synth movement and breathy drum design of 'Gamera' before landing on 'Inokashira' for some eastern inspired stepper goodness. The eastern theme continues as we move into the shuffled break stabs and hypnotising plucks of 'Devilman'. The EP then rounds off very well indeed with a bonus track entitled 'Harajuku' which brings pulsating sub work and circulating strings to the front row in blazing style.

Review: As an influence over the dubstep world, Joe Nice and his Gourmet Beats imprint seem to be able to do no wrong, with great new music being released almost every month. For this one we see the label team up with dubwise architect: AXH for a powerful single release entitled 'Dubplate Champion'. This one is a homage to dub music in general, recreating the classic marching vibe of early Studio One. This combined with excellent use of space and additional FX make it an instant dubstep classic. On remix duty, Abstrakt Sonance steps forward with a more electronic respin, bringing a whole new avenue to the release.

Review: Boston's AXH is increasingly in the spotlight when it comes to deep, raucous dubstep vibes and, perhaps because he's from the other side of the pond, his material just seems to have something fresh and alluring about it - not to hype it up or anything! After a killer appearance on London's TEMPA not too long ago, the bad badboy runs two new dope tunes on the impressive Duploc imprint. "Witch doctor" blows a menacing, cosmic array of bass tones over a dismantled percussion beat, slamming all over the place like it's 2006, while "Lionart" takes some inspiration from the ragga school of thought in delivering its dutty, wobbling swarm of bass over deep, mystical roots vibes. Heavy.

Review: US based deep dubstep purveyor AxH has sure come along way; it's not like you hear of Boston, Massachusetts being a hotbed for innovative future music. This guy have proven there might just be something in the water (or the weed!) out there, given their credentials ie: releasing on London kingpins Tempa and now for N-Type's Wheel & Deal. Starting out with the spooky mood lighting of "Devil Shogun" complete with unsettling kung fu movie dialogue, "Fading Away" then gets stuck into some dystopian low frequency explorations with some help from ARtroniks. "Boneyard Keeper" pursues some more familiar dub flavour translated via dark sci-fi aesthetics. Promising stuff.
