Review: Following on from the major success of its first edition, the DUPLOC team have unveiled the second '140 ALLSTARS' V/A collection, welcoming six more names on board for a dazzling display of dubstep-infused heat. We open up with the sweeping woodwind lines and shuffling drums of 'Tecc' from Sedan, before Ourman unleashes the gnarly melodic grinds and haunting percussive pops of 'Sp00ns', but this time, it's a VIP mix. Next up, Beatsforbeaches arrives with a real dazzler as 'Me Nah' gives us a glitchy yet impactful backdrop, followed by both the synthetic squelches of Distinct Motive's 'Champ' and the super creative rhythmic expressions of 'CRTCL DMG' from Senncoria. Finally, Teffa does what Teffa does best, by unveiling an aquatic masterpiece in 'Cosmos', driven by crunchy bass design and unique percussive influxes, rounding off another successful V/A for the DUPLOC team.

Review: Following on from a top quality run of drops, we were very excited to see what the Basskruit team had to offer this time as they unveil this spicy four track compilation entitled 'Explosie Vol. 1'. We kick off our exploration with Crowley, who delivers an industrial thumper named 'Grump', stuffed with colourful percussive drags and unpredictable melodic scoops, followed by Beatsforbeaches returning with another unorthodox scorcher in 'Whydah'. Next, we move into the smooth chord progressions and super-scattered rhythms of Zygos who excels on 'Sideways', before the creeping percussive bubbles and hard hitting sub-lines of 'Echolocation' give us a fiery outro.

Review: For their seventh official release, we are very excited to dive into this one from the Bassin crew as they welcome Beatsforbeaches inside for a solid four track display in dubwise energy. Kicking off with 'Powerful Thing', we are greeted by a darkened, dungeon-esc vibe, as shimmering chord line and sharp snare crunches lay atop a sub-heavy landscape, before 'Erebus' combines intricate drum rhythms with a constantly shifting collection of synthy scrapes with devilish results. Next, 'Kabal' gives us more underworld melodies and gnarly instrumentation to really hammer home that evil vibe, before rounding off with 'HO', a more quirky combination of bubbling percussion and stuttered vocal sampling, giving the EP a perfect sign off point.

Review: Boy oh boy what a year it has been for the Duploc family, who despite all the madness of 2020 have still kept up their incredible run of consistency, dropping nothing but bangers throughout the duration. This, presumably their final drop of the year sees them pull together a monstrous roster, featuring the likes of Cartridge, BunZer0, Ourman, Opus, Teffa, Sam Cosmic, Xakra and many more to give us one final celebratory look into dubstep in the modern era. The complete track listing is absolutely bonkers to tell you all the truth, with quality leaking out of every single original. Some favourites we have to mention however of course include the sizzling bass designs and spooky textures of Wraz's 'Ghost', alongside the fluttering flute melodies of Mani's 'Secret Forest' and 'Gibberish', a super smooth subby glider from Surreal & Somah.

Review: Following on from a fantastic selection of full length drops across 2020, the Duploc team continue their exciting run of form here, presenting the fourth chapter of their sumptuous 'Duploc Selects' series. They offer up another 10 system scorchers, with the likes of Rez, Oddkut, Hotcut, Nova and more all supplying the goods. The full tracklisting is pretty outstanding, but there are a couple of highlights we couldn't not mention, with Hella's spacey saxophone genius on 'Trinity Centre' being an instant hit. The sub-busting basslines and explosive reesey textures of 'Me N My Speakaz' from DRTY HBTZ is also an absolute bop, with the sizzling low end of Idioteque's 'Morality' also raising some eyebrows!

Review: It's always an exciting thing to see to Artikal Music EPs land in the store, and today is no exception as BEATSFORBITCHES land for an explosive two tracker, jam packed with potent 140 energies. We begin with 'Bloodshed', a metallic rumbler, doused in heavily reverberated vocal samples, spine shattering snare slaps and a super creepy sense of atmosphere throughout, all playing host to a central bassline that is sure to cut through systems like butter. On the flip we take in 'Tunnel', another melancholy piece of harmonic design, driven this time by a sweeping low end, some unusual hollywood sampling and some incredibly crispy drum work, perfect for inspiring a stomp in the dance. Lovely work.

Review: Dread Or Dead are back in action again as they this time welcome BeatsForBeaches into the roster for a three-tracker jam-packed with explosive steppers energy, kicking off with the incredibly eerie 'Have Mercy', sampling a soulful yet haunting vocal line atop punchy bass LFO's and spooky atmospheric soundscape. Next, the unnerving flavours continue as the high pitched melodic taps and moody basslines of 'Whoo' deliver another subby punch to proceedings, before Zygos joins the party for it's finale as 'The Spirit' unleashes a choppy arrangement of half-time rhythms and string-lead harmonics. It's an interesting EP to say the least!
