Review: Following the release of their debut album, Temple of Dreams, Bedouin have commissioned a series of remixes. The same level detail that the duo imbued in the original material is also audible on these remixes. LP Giobbi's take on "Medieval" unfolds to dubbed out drums and a gentle, shuffling rhythm, but it's all about the subtle melodic flourishes and gentle neo-classical piano keys that run through this version. In contrast, the Catz 'n Dogz version of "Crazy" goes for the dance floor. Led by a driving bass, sharp percussion and discordant synth builds, it manages to retain vocalist Iveta Mukuchyan's tones without missing a beat.

Review: Bedouin, the creative partnership of Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki, released its expansive debut album, Temple Of Dreams, earlier this year. Now Human By Default is putting out remixes of key tracks from the long player. First up is Damian Lazarus, with a reshape of "Voices In My Head". Integrating the original version's chants into a swirling, deep house groove, the Crosstown Rebels boss delivers an esoteric take that is sure to stand out. Vintage Culture's remix of "Tijuana" is more upfront. While retaining Bedouin's mysterious melodies, he factors in an insistent minimal house rhythm. It makes for a captivating but club-friendly combination.

Review: The sister label of legendary Ibiza club CircoLoco drops its latest split release. Representing a range of moods and flavours, Dreamin' moves from the soulful, deep house sounds of Lost Souls Of Saturn & TOKiMONSTA's "Revision of the Past", to more tracky iterations of house music, as Adam Beyer serves up the sparse "Break It Up", while on "Up In Flames", Bedouin drops a teased out, vocal-heavy piece of hypnotic house, replete with soulful, enticing vocals. Meanwhile, Tale of Us' "Nova Two" is a more dramatic affair, with tranced out hooks unfolding over a rolling groove that breaks and builds dramatically - effortlessly capturing a peak-time vibe.

Review: Bedouin are the Brooklyn based nomads Rami Abousabe and Tamer Malki. Bringing their unique spell of melodies and rhythms to Damian Lazarus' imprint, they deliver a cover version of the famous Pink Floyd classic "Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun". With diverse influences owing to their Middle Eastern heritage, Western upbringing and world travels; here Bedouin deliver some of their best productions to date. They even had the chance to play the track to Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason in person, and he's said to have really appreciated it. Second offering fittingly titled "Guacamole" is an original track conceived in Mexico and made for the dancefloor. Israeli tech house hero Guy Gerber also steps in; the Rumors boss delivering a deeply mystical dance floor remix.

Review: Reflective of the atmosphere that prevails at party organisers All Day I Dream's daytime events, this collection eschews mushy ambience and plodding deep house in favour of a more sophisticated, adventurous selection. Powel's "Hor" is all abstract percussion and soothing melodies, while Lauren Ritter's "Glass Hours" is a sublime deep techno groove, brittle, beautiful and reminiscent of artists like As One. Meanwhile, Bedouin's "Flight of Birds" sees the compilation veer into mystical territories with wonderfully evocative fiddle playing unraveling over a pulsing groove and bongo drums. On Summer Compilation, All Day I Dream show that down-tempo dance music need not be synonymous with birdsong and dull sax solos.
