Review: Brace yourselves for an electrifying sonic experience with Ben Pest's latest EP, "Come To The Yard," released on the fearless Co-Accused Records. This EP is not for the faint of heart; it's a pulsating, unapologetic journey into the depths of electronic experimentation. From the very first beat, the commanding title track, "Come To The Yard," grabs you and refuses to let go. It's a high-energy onslaught of pulsating beats and quaking basslines that will have you soaring through a galaxy of sound. Next up, we dive into the quirky universe of "Experting Computers," where fizzing electro meets breakbeats and robotic vocal fragments. It's like your favorite sci-fi movie soundtrack got together with your childhood video game collection for an otherworldly jam session. Prepare for a collision of nostalgia and futuristic funk. As we navigate the sonic landscape, "Erase Me" emerges as a dark and rugged beast. Analog textures arrest the senses as an absolutely jacking rhythm pounds its way to the very center of the dancefloor. This track isn't here to play games; it's here to obliterate any semblance of normalcy. Ben Pest playfully closes out the EP with "Think Again," a machine funk extravaganza that throws it back to the old school acid house days. The infectious 303 bassline grooves along with attitude, making you question everything you thought you knew about dancefloor dynamics. It's like a retro-futuristic party in a parallel dimension, and everyone's invited.

Review: Ben Pest, known for his electrifying live hardware-based sets, has once again proved his mettle with his latest electro track 'Robotic Sales', released on the Brighton-based label Orson. The opening track, 'Robotic Sales' (Acid Redux), sets the tone for the EP with its perfect blend of scorching acid pads, powerful electro percussion, and roboticised vocal samples, all accompanied by 80s-style synths, making it a classic hit. The EP takes a turn with 'Wobbly Eggs', which deconstructs the typical dance track structure, presenting key melodic components during the breakdown, and then disappearing as the track returns to its main body. 'Beefcase', the most acid-heavy track on the EP, is guaranteed to make the dance floor shake, while the final track, 'Charizard Dream', is perfect for those moments of peak-time ecstasy.

Review: Radioactive Man hooks up with Bristol gun for hire Ben Pest, aka OverworX, to deliver a hardware and live jam impassioned EP on the former's burgeoning Asking For Trouble label. All roads here undeniably lead to the wicked broken beat acid of this EP's title track "Old Tight Selektah" - a super hit! Find some deeper, tripped out and new age Baelerica funk in "You Bring It, We'll Wing It" with some deeper, experimental and acid-tinged electro in "Bar Tab" and its sister track "Bracetings" that's a little easier on the brain for an original dancefloor alternative. Boh!
