Have you ever hankered after an accidentally outrageous Italian disco cover of David Bowie's "Heroes"? Admittedly, it's an implausible idea, but not to Italian synth-popsters Big Ben Tribe. In 1983 they recorded and released this weirdly dreamy cover of the Thin White Duke's popular anthem. It became a minor hit across Europe, but never really took off in the UK. It goes without saying that it's cheeky and camp, but as Italian disco goes it's actually rather restrained. In a certain light, it could even be described as strangely Balearic. This digital reissue features the vocal original and an excellent, stretched-out instrumental - all digital cowbells, wobbly synths and pleasing dub effects.
