Review: SHDW's label marks its twentieth release with this weighty compilation. Drawing on some of the most respected names in techno, volume three is full of peak-time bangers. There's the lean, rolling techno of Chlar's "Inside Us", while Dax J showers the listener with waves of acid tones on the steely, peak-time "Celestial Dub". The Advent's "Randomized" is a bruising and quite brilliant industrial techno workout. While Blawan's hyperactive "Don't You Dare Squawk At Me" hovers just below the 160 bpm mark, not all of the compilation is as intense. Vocals are mixed with chiming chords on Gary Beck's "Fold" and Z.I.P.P.O's "Broken Game" is a deep Detroit techno track.

Review: The Russell Brothers aka Truss & Tessela keep the fires of their Overmono project burning with a huge session on Fabric Presents mix series. Off the bat you'll find a hyped and unreleased Blawan number in the producer's "Fourth Dimensional" next to a 2005 Vex'd classic "Pop Pop". Overmono exclusives include a super laid back and hopeful "If U Ever" alongside both numbers from their latest Polykicks release - jungle and UKG heads check it out. On the lighter dubbier side of things is a sweet inclusion of Well St artist Robert Fleck, next to some heavier bombs from L.B Dub Corp, Plastikman, Actress and Ed Rush & Optical's "Bacteria". We also recommend Powder's "Lost Of Light" next to DJ Misjah's "Victim" and Equiknoxx's "A Rabbit Spoke To Me When I Woke Up". Best thing since Surgeon's This Is For You Shits.
Review: For the ninth release on Ternsec, label owner Blawan delivers a killer six-tracker. "Justa" is a slinky, skeletal rhythm that resounds to repetitive vocals and a warped vocal sample. On "The Sithe", Blawan goes down an abstract route, with hyper-speed shuffling drums married to a multi-layered bass and a rickety rhythm. "Silver" is based on a similar approach, but this time a wobbly bass unravels over ticking percussion and a slinky groove. The release takes a more ominous turn on "Fizz City", with Blawan opting for a straighter and searing electronic riffs. "Fourth Dimensional" operates at the very farthest limits of techno, with doubled-up metallic drums fused with abstract percussive slivers and ghostly synths.
