Review: For the uninitiated, Blue Rondo a la Turk were an early '80s salsa/jazz/pop fusion group whose slim discography has since provided rich pickings for Balearic-minded DJs. Here, they return - albeit in remixed form - for the first time since 1983. The headline attraction is undoubtedly Andrew Weatherall's sparse, murky, no-wave influenced rework of '82 single "Klactofilthedstein" (think A Love From Outer Space meets the Asphodells), though Faze Action's carnival-friendly, super-percussive Dub of "Me & Mr Sanchez" runs it close. The band themselves deliver two remixes of their own, too, with the heavyweight, horn-toting revision of "Malandro do Sanchez" being the highlight.
