Let Me Love You - (6:11) 122 BPM
Review: Rather matter-of-factly, the hitherto little-known Boogie Down Dee Jays describe themselves as "producers of bespoke boogie, disco, house and Afro beats". Here, they pop up on DSK Recordings with the kind of hot-to-trot, dancefloor-friendly jam that somehow manages to blend a myriad of clear influences. While ostensibly a cheery deep house/disco hybrid built around a killer bassline and rolling beats, "Let Me Love You" also touches on soft focus soul, wide-eyed jazz-funk, and horn-totin' disco funk. It also features a smattering of hip-hop samples. Somehow, all these elements not only work together perfectly, but also sound rather good.
