Constantly about 20 steps ahead of the rest, Bop's sublime brews are nothing short of future. It's evident from the moment the cosmic drum arrangement and ambient textures roll out on "An Order" to the final echoes of the 23rd century soul "Space 2 Breathe". Darker dancefloor thirsts will be quenched by purring workout "So Unloved", the data-spiked glitch-funk "Untitled Pattern 47" and Anile's super sharp stepper remix. Fancy a cuppa?
Medschool's enigmatic Russian beat splicer returns with the second instalment of his "Untitled Patterns" series and, once again, it's a stark and beguiling affair that owes as much to techno as it does drum & bass. "61" flickers and flexes with a dubby almost Detroitian flavour, "56" is more of an ocean than it is a tune thanks to its vast space and epic pad washes while "60" licks with a little more rampancy thanks its footworky kicks and percussive tom-tapping insistency. "48" brings us to an overwhelming close with lavish synth washes and whispering drums. Glacial.
