Review: his devious blend of techno sounds to a less minimally-minded dance audience. His strain of industrialism is loud and audible on "Forewarned Is Forearmed", a steely, broken techno rhythm that gather more and more pace as the deathly sonics cave in, while "Common Ancestor" ounces on fluidly without the help of any kick drums. "Doublethink" is an ode to 1984 dystopia, a wide soundscape of liquid drums and eerie melodies swirling over head, leaving "Atlas" to ponder in a dark, intricate whirlpool of sludgy melodies and broken percussion shots. Recommended!

Review: Lena Willikens is not only the first female DJ to curate a compilation for Dekmantel's Selectors series, but also the first to put the emphasis on previously unreleased music rather than dusty-fingered crate-digging gems. That's not to say there aren't excellent older cuts present - see the decidedly psychedelic brilliance of Sandoz's ambient dub earworm "Morning Star (Dubmix)" and the trippy 2001 industrial dub techno of Vromb's "Amalgame" - just that there are a few more previously unheard killers. These include, but aren't limited too, the drowsy broken techno of Jasss's "Little Lines", Parrish Smith's jacking industrial house shuffler "Minima" and the druggy, mind-altering synthesizer soundtrack throb of Borusiade's intoxicating "Night Drive (An Exercise in Indulgence)".

Review: Borusiade is the alter ego of Miruna Boruzescu, who has released Eps on Cititrax and Comeme. A Body, his debut album, gives full vent to his artistic palette. It starts with the slow motion clatter of "Cluster" before moving into the mesmerising Gothic vocals of "Breathe". The tempo picks up somewhat with the dense, bubbling "Dormant", where Boruzescu indulges his love of mysterious electronic music. On both "Silent" and "An Aquarian Feeling", the Romanian producer moves into a world of lo-fi rhythms and drones, one that Sandra Electronics occupies, but showing his diverse approach to composition right to the end, "Undone" is a lush, orchestral affair.

Review: Rampant and 'up for it' as usual, the Cititrax label is back with a new set of wayward technoid experiments for the more trained ears on the dancefloors. This time it's Romania's Borusiade and newcomer The Sixteen Steps to share newest EP, and of course, proceed to annihilate any idea of a quiet night in. The former sets off with the mechanical acid bumps of "Infatuation", guided by an eerie set of vocal blurs, and that's followed by the comparatively more beat-centric techno of the apocalyptic "Confutation". The Sixteen Steps first lands on "Signals From The South", a house banger with noxious levels of mutant bass at its core, followed by the single-minded industrialism and sheer techno brutality of "Promises On The Run". WOWZAH!

Review: Berlin-based Romanian Miruna "Borusiade" Boruzescu was initiated into the Comeme family late last year, when he delivered a fine remix of Ana Helder's "Track Con Flute" for the superb One Night In Comene Vol 4 compilation. Here, he gets a chance to showcase his own productions for the same label, delivering a five-track debut EP full of atmospheric compositions and intoxicating ideas. There's a stylish darkness about much of the EP, from the minimal wave/dark synth-pop drowsiness of "Jeopardy" and exotic, Giallo-influenced charm of "Rescue", to the cacophonous drums and strobe-lit melodies of "Dancer's Doom", and throbbing, John Carpenter style horror of "Haunted By Flashlights".
