Review: Ukranian producer Brian De Palma's recent debut on Peggy Gou's GUDU imprint, Call Me By Your Nail, was quietly impressive. This speedy sequel is, if anything, even better, with the sometime Rush Hour and Dekmantel contributor bouncing between sparkling, synth-driven, melody-rich jacking house (the gorgeous, '80s synth-pop influenced brilliance of 'IQarus'), kaleidoscopic blends of mid-'80s Pet Shop Boys and early Orbital ('Purple Brain') and futurist techno smothered in 8-bit electronics, emotive chords, psychedelic electronics and rushing lead lines ('O.W.D (Once Were Dancers)'). The obligatory remix comes from fast-rising producer Deniro, who smothers 'IQarus' in emotive chords and waves of glittering electronics on a fine peak-time techno take.

Review: Not to be confused with Brian De Palma of Scarface or Whirlpool productions fame, Peggy Gou's emerging Gudu label introduces a new project and alias from Alexei Versino. The artist's various escapades so far include releases with Rush Hour, Dekmantel, Off Minor and Uzuri, with the Ukranain born producer taking inspiration from time spent on Egypt's Sinai Peninsula - perhaps audible on the title-track - with watery melodics and a constant groove leading the way in "Farout". Delving into something cut specifically for the club is "Particle Fever" with its deep, techy house mainframe, techno hi-hats and slight touches of dub. And for that real 1970s krautrock trip, check out the emotive bleeps and juicy synths of "Clockroom".

Review: Peggy Gou's label delivers a compilation that features regular contributors to her label. Mogwaa's "11khz" resounds to a fusion of rolling, shaking drums and lush synths. Exploring this theme further, Salamanda's "Mockingbird" is more contemplative thanks to its combination of swirling melodies and downtempo drums. In contrast, the wonderful Hiver duo drop a crystalline electro track in the shape of "Lunar". The compilation also serves up some fine dance floor tracks: DMX Krew weighs in with the clubby, angular rhythms of "One Take", Brain de Palma's "Road to Tatooine" is a fine, wonky acid track - and Closet Yi's "Sonder" is a shimmering break beat track
