Review: In just four releases Brame has managed to land himself solo releases on Morris Audio, Dirt Crew and Drumpoet Community, which speaks volumes for the quality of his deep house wares. It's the latter that he returns to for round two, finding fresh form with the sublime and soothing tones of "Vinyl Cut" and the edgier thrust of "Absent". The standout track on the EP is the title jam, which takes a more progressive route as swirling melodies weave a mystical message around the heads down drum lines, leaving plenty of room for delectable techy stabs to inject some mechanised soul into the tune in its later stages.

Review: On 2014's The Roundup, Heist Recordings family members remixed leading label releases from the previous 12 months. It was such a success that Detroit Swindle has decided to repeat the exercise, with similarly positive results. Across the five tracks, you'll find a groovy, clavinet-and-Rhodes heavy loop jam (Brame & Hamo's remix of Fouk's "Lefty's Bar"), some boogie-flavoured, soulful deep house haziness (Fouk reworking Brame & Hamo), a dash of broken deep house funk (Detroit Swindle's take on Nachtbraker's "You're Out Of Your Element"), and a wonderful combination of undulating breakbeat-house rhythms and eyes-closed musical touches (Nactbraker re-wiring M Ono's "Delaware State Route"). In other words, it's business as usual from one of deep house's most consistent labels.

Retch Wretchedness - (5:25) 120 BPM

Review: Hands up who's fantasized about an extra-large doner kebab with all the trimmings? Well, Irish duo Brame & Hamo certainly have. Ironically, "Kebab Dreams" is much tastier than your average late night takeaway, with eyes-closed Rhodes notes, hazy chords and sparkling synth motifs riding a bouncy and bumpy deep house groove. The sweetness continues on the slightly more driving "Cert City", where jazzy samples and a relentless bassline are expertly combined with restless, live-sounding house percussion. Finally, they up the tape hiss and Theo Parrish style jazz samples on "Retch Wretcheness", a swinging saunter through dusty deep house territory full of hooky stabs and fizzing cymbals.
