Review: Next Level Dubstep have delivered a delightful box of weaponry with this latest compilation, unloading seven original steppers from some of the seasons heaviest hitters. We open up with the crunchy reverberations of 'Tribez', a dizzying display from Noclu, which then gives way to both the squelching supremacy of Bukez Finezt's 'French Hideaway' and the system-busting sub bulges of 'Infinity Chamber' from the ever-ready Roklem & Sebalo. Next up, the choppy synth slaps of Mikrodot's 'Unconscious Mind' then awaken, followed in their slumberous state by 'Chatter' a convulsing box of distorted rhythm and urgent string work. Finally, 3WA arrives with a typically dizzying design on 'Consciousness', with the lethal synthetics and breaks-like drum crunches of Wolf'd's 'Run!' closing off the project with a serious smash.

Review: It's been a monstrous year for the Ternion Sound trio, who here return for one final dosage of dubstep delight, welcoming three experienced sonic-surgeons inside for a set of tasty 'Dovetail' remixes. First on the list, we take a look at Kursa's electronic overhaul, focussing heavily on grizzly electronic pulsing basses and scattered breakbeat-style drum switches, giving the whole track a truly shocking feel. Next, the infamous Bukez Finezt delivers a system-busting recreation, showcasing the pure genius of Bukez' synthetic thought process and abstract rhythmic ideas. Finally, the legendary Reso makes his return to give 'Dovetail' a jungle-inspired overhaul, focussing in on industrial bass sounds and scattered drum designs to unleash a seriously potent original, rounding out the EP with a splash of high-tempo finesse. Excellent work.

Review: It's been a brief minute since we last heard from Distance's Chestplate imprint, but boy do they make an exciting return on this one as they welcome the ever-ready Bukez Finezt inside for a super three track explosion. First up the title track 'Eradicate Mankind' sees Bukez get into his experimental back, launching unusual LFO designs amidst a collection of super syncopated drum expressions, before 'The Machine' combines classic eskimo sounds with fiery synthesizer warbles for a fabulous fusion. Finally, 'Jittery Jerkz' hits the middle ground as lethal bass designs march forward upon a glittering bed of well processed and delayed drum samples, showcasing a full spectrum of Bukez's character.

We are therefore introduced to and absolutely storming compilation here as we reel off bangers from the likes of dubstep legends such as Caspa, Truth, Sukh Knight, Youngsta and more. For us, the highlights of this incredible compilation are quite clear, kicking off with the stunning production of 'Judas' from Nomine, who brings forward his uniquely metallic sound design on mass. Another absolute heater we couldn't forget is the spooky yet satisfying 'Crocodile' from Dayzero, packed with wicked drum flavours and haunted overtones.

Highlights? Bukez Finezt's ghetto-chomping wobbler "Real 2 Real" will leave you feeling seasick (in a good way) Requake will have you writing a new will and leaving everything to Duploc, Taiko's "Gremlin" will dark you out so hard you'll want to be blind (in the best way possible) while Saule's "Ottoia" stretches time and space in such a way you'll completely forget what day it is. Review: New artillery of dubstep swelters from the on-fire FatKidOnFire imprint - yessir! Militant bass vibes and deathly percussive stabs all-round with this new four-way compilation from a bunch of newcomers, and it's all very much in the typical spirit of the label. "Fear Spud" by D-Operation Drop is like a war march guided by a band of low frequencies, Iskeletor's "Charizard" is a wild, venomous slice of neuro-funk with a broken beat, while "S.90" by Saule is a more typical dubstep anthem a-la DMZ, and Bukez Finezt goes more acoustic with his harmonious bass experiment tagged "False Friends". Bad.

Review: One of Germany's most respected dubstep producers, Bukez celebrates 10 years of honing his skills - often with humour and always with heaviness - with his debut album. Known for spanning the range from the deepest, shadowiest of cuts and the silliest of balls-out drops, Bukez lays it on the line right here in style. We slouch to the skank-packed summer jam "Shaka Taak", we gyrate uncontrollably to the timpani teases of "Eerie Voices" we enjoy sweet dub dreams in a ghost town on "Illuminated Droplets" and we're hurling our shoes out of the window by the time "Neonzombieattack" cuts through the rig. A lot of time has been spent on this body of work and you can really tell.

Review: Beautifully brutal German wonk: the unstoppable Bukez and Deskem collide once again for three aggressive swagger jams. "Heads Off" hits like you've returned to your house and it's been turned over by secret agents; everything you need is right there, but it's all just a touch out of place and slightly disturbing. "War Drones" is a little more rigid in its arrangement but retains the weirdness thanks to some very creepy, paranoid sound design. Finally "Brain Damage" shuts up shop with the nastiest, strangest bassline of the set. Imagine being kidnapped by aliens. Now imagine being kidnapped by aliens who'd like to play you some Bukez Finezt and Deskem.

Review: Dub Police's MyStyle mix series has become a force to be reckoned with in dubstep, an annual showcase from some of their most exciting artists, each outing appears deeper, more involving and widescreen than the last. The Others has clearly gone to town here with a whole heap of his productions and collaborations. For mix lovers this is a must; 28 tracks all seamed together tightly, it explores the darkest corners of the scene with a brave boldness. Those looking for individual tracks will also be pleased to see the likes of Icicle's techno-like industrial VIP "Need A Job", Sleeper's disturbing "Civil War" and Thelem's tripped out mind-twister "Haunted Harmonics". Stylish, sonically arresting and consummately accomplished, The Others has represented himself with serious skills right here.

Review: Also known as Germany's Next Top Wobble, Bukez Finezt has taken things next level with "Under Control". Hyped across the board (from deep heads to tear-out boys) as one of the key releases of 2014 so far, this sub-saturated swagger-jam has an ability to sing to all corners of the ever-fractured dubstep floor. Want to go deeper again? Head for "You Don't Belong Here". Wonkier than a wooden legged pirate with gout, it's peppered with spooked SFX and a bass tone so ominous it could raise the Devil himself, Bukez clearly has a dark, dark mind! Finally we hit "Pace Yourself". A percussive hype track with a very cheeky horn sample, all manner of madness has been coded into the vast space between the elements. Minimalist chaos anyone?
