Showing signs of early promise on the likes of Thought Render a few years back, London-based Burgalar returns with his broadest, most complete document yet. At four tracks deep, each one flexes a different creative muscle. "Glow" is a tapestry of positivity, laid down over a beat heavy enough to sedate an elephant. "Rust" is more of a classic dubstep affair with a sinewy, waspy bassline that scratches and scuffs against a lush, lucid rhythm, "Bright" is a really interesting piece that develops on every bar with new instruments flying in from nowhere, each one adding to the funky momentum. Finally we hit the chilliest quarter of the quadrant with the midnight graveyard meander "Paranormal". Playing on the classic horror film arpeggio with an array of instruments, scratch beneath its icy veneer to find a thick, warm groove.
