All their decorated contributors are present and correct: RDG, G Double, Gaze Ill, Subtle Mind and many more. Highlights include the swooning strings and rattling drums of Server's "Boxing", Subreacher's chest-crushing bass wobbler "The Machine" and RDG's insanity work out "It's All In Your Mind". Review: Dubliminal bossman Cessman jumps aboard the good ship Surfase with a far-flexing trio... "Ponder" is a real grizzler. With a waspy, middy 2010 style bassline and thundering beats, it's his aggiest track to date. "Sleeping Giant" is the complete contrast; a lush, breezy garage affair with beats that float like a fat lady's dress and a cold, confident air. Finally "Under Pressure" takes us back to Cessman's foundations. Writhing in authentic dub dynamics, it's the sound most people know him best for... And by jove he does it well. With a palpitating kick/bass combo it will lend itself well to techno lovers just as much as it does dub heads.

Review: Run by Cessman, Dubliminal is a label "representing a multi-cultural melting pot of futuristic roots music". Here, for his imprint's 11th release, he steps up to deliver Research And Development, a four-track exploration of the outer limits of bass. "King Of My Mind" sees a seriously cool cowbell assault some stop-start beats, while "Babylon Must Fall" sees him explore his garage and jazz days but with a modern freneticism, "Fundamentals" betrays some house and even D&B influences on this forward-thinking floorfiller and "Inner City Vibes" balances the fine line between cool jazz sax and Guru Josh with great gusto.
