Review: Greek disco producer Timewarp teams up with an anonymous pal from funk blog extraordinaire, The Zuzu Club, for this compilation that's exclusively about 'great and fresh' new music. Although there's no theme they do look across the water to the Caribbean for some inspiration on the likes of the laid back reggae lament of "Theory Of Revolution" and the smooth dancehall grooves of "Baby Got Me Good". Elsewhere we encounter vintage electro-swing on Pavlov's "Moving Next Door", retro lounge-rock on "Jesu" By Loopez and even some good old big beat on "Jungle Boogie" by Chinese Man.

Review: Retro-minded Londoner Charlie Beale takes his time with his releases. However he's finally back with three new sizzlers that sound like they're straight outta 1941. That's not strictly true of course as Beale also has one foot in the present, and so "The Gal From Joes" has a sassy old skool-swing but plenty of 4/4 thump too. Elsewhere "Diggin' My Potatoes" and "Tale Of AG Smith" both take some mournful bluesy laments and injects them with some accelerated dancefloor adrenaline.

Review: A lot has changed in the world of music since Freshly Squeezed dropped the first installment of their eponymous label compilation back in 2013. For one, the term electro-swing has become a household name with even the UK Eurovision entry adopting this musical style. Still, this label is where you get the real stuff and here we are treated to another 15 examples. Highlights include the attitude-heavy, dubstep-flecked "Swing Ya Beard" by JFB & Beardyman, Jem Stone's big beat bouncer "Be Bop 2 Hip Hop" and the tough house slammer "Lick The Spoon" by Foxy Cheex & Jem Stone.
