Review: For the ninth instalment on 012, Claudio PRC welcomes Andrea Cossu to the fold. Like previous releases on the label, the focus is on the deep, dubby end of the techno spectrum. The title track exudes a mysterious sensibility, as tranced out melodies unfold over a chugging groove. "Hydrozoa" is more dance floor focused. Powered by a linear, metallic rhythm it sees the duo factor in swooshing filters to achieve the requisite dance floor impact. "Biofluorescence" has echoes of Basic Channel, thanks to its scuffled rhythm and ominous dub chords - but the subtle use of melodies means that pair's musical identity remains writ large.

Review: Claudio PRC follows 2022's Challenger Deep on Delsin with another psychedelic take on techno. "Celotex" starts the EP in hypnotic mode as tripped out acid lines are fused with atmospheric, sweeping synths. "Opaque" sees him explore similar territory. The gurgling 303s are audible again - this time they unfold over nickel-plated percussion and a throbbing groove. "Monotex" is more pared back. It sees the Italian producer lay down a linear rhythm that acts as the basis for steely hi hats and a tranced-out melody line. Shifting tempos, "Latent" is a dubbed out, chugging groove that resounds to angelic synths.

Review: What a year it's been for Delsin. Apart from reissuing classics like the peerless techno of Sterac's "X-Tracks", the label has also cast its gaze far and wide when it comes to releasing new music. This approach has yielded the icy ambience of Vril's "Alte Seele", Artefakt's bubbling, downtempo techno groove "Iridescence" and the hypnotic, mid-tempo drums of Dino Sabatini's "Lewa". On a different tip is Jason Wynters' frenetic electro workout, "The Hunted", while Claudio PRC's "Orakle" pushes Delsin into a somewhat darker direction than usual, courtesy of its murky rhythms. Of course, it wouldn't be a Delsin compilation without some deeper sounds, which are in abundance here courtesy of two other fine reissues - the chiming chords of Parallel 9's "Helix" and Connective Zone's dreamy "Seed".

Review: Delsin welcomes Claudio PRC to the fold. Known for his work on Prologue, Semantica and his own TGP label, he delivers a mesmerising techno release for the Dutch imprint. "Mana" bubbles and trickles along slowly, with Claudio using acid gurgles and shuffling percussion to create a tripped out slow burner. On "Tonal", he edges slightly towards the dance floor; powered by hissing hats and tweaked tones; the combination makes for an understated but effective techno track. The Italian producer remains in club mode for "Orakle", but once again, doesn't follow a typical path, with a shuffling groove resounding to a series of tonal builds and drops.

Review: As underground venues and spaces struggle to overcome the financial pressures exacted by coronavirus, many artists are responding to support them. In_vurt is a case in point; issued on Cassegrain's label, it sees a multitude of techno producers who have played at Vurt contribute tracks, with the proceeds of sales helping the Seoul venue. It's an impressive, 28-track collection, and features some of underground techno's most respected artists, including Answer Code Request, who drops the dreamy, breakbeat-led "No Comply 180", Artefakt's dubbed out tunnelling "Solstice" and the shimmering rhythms on BNJMN's "Overstated". These sit alongside more experimental tracks like Cio D'Or's glitchy "Permanent Key" and the droning, expansive "Further Movements Into Unknown Territories" from Peter Van Hoesen.

Review: Joachim Spieth's Affin imprint starts a new series titled Affinity and this inaugurates the new project in spectacular fashion. This new venture will likely delve into hypnotic techno territory and we like where it's leading! It's Sardinia's Claudio PRC up first who gives us "Limnic", a slow burning and sinister epic with some seriously evil sound design and droning bass drawing you into the void. Fellow Sardinian and Prologue label mate Ness is up next with "Vardar" a stomping and tunnelling techno affair with layer upon layer of immersive pads and paranoid atmospherics. On the flip is Dutchman Reggy Van Oers, with the rather Dettmann sounding "Frenetic" and finally sometime Ness collaborator, Glasgow's Deepbass gets onboard with the hypnotic and futuristic stomper "The Light That Never Was".
