Review: UK purveyours of funky breaks, Bombstrikes Records, may have a controversial name but there's everything to love about their sound. The fun loving and dancefloor bothering label run by Mooqee & Beatvandals was founded in 2004 and they claim that if you have been to a club since then you will most likely have heard their releases. Well then! Starting off with the low slug funk of A Skillz's "Mooger Fooger (dub mix)", Mooqee & Beatvandals themselves appear with "Back Up" and the legendary Cut La Roc is still at it; "Sunday Morning People" (Herbgrinder remix)" proves that he's still got his finger on the pulse. Other highlights include Pimpsoul's ever soulful "Is This Love (feat Pat Fulgoni - Pimpsoul funk remix)" the street attitude of A Skillz & Beatvandals "Simply Playing (feat Real Elements)" and the legendary Martin Solveig (remixed by the equally legendary Mousse T) who appears with the James Brown sampling "I'm A Good Man".

Review: Pan-continental collaboratives CMC & Silenta and The Funk Hunters have previously ruffled feathers with two releases on Westwood Recordings and now they're back for a third time with "Do This For You". It's a double-barrelled assault of a single, with tough, chromium-plated break beats, shimmering' 80s funk synth licks and a rap from Chali 2NA that includes a reference to Barney Rubble's sweater. Review: German DJ/producer Quincy Jointz has been strutting his funky stuff behind the decks since 2003. He's struck up a close bond with Greece's Timewarp in particular, so much so in fact that he's back with his fourth mix album for them! "Lime Sorbet Vol IV" sees the guy condense 18 tracks into an hour-long mix, which is quite a journey indeed. The individual tracks are also included here in full, highlights of which include the Junkie XL-ish "Pray", the bouncy electro-pop meets retro rap of "Summertime (remix)" and the electro-funk-breaks of "Do You Want More Ah".

Review: We're not quite sure why this German funk meister is so enthralled by lime sorbet in particular (other than that it tastes nice), but that is what he has chosen to dub his popular mix series. Review: Sometimes, you don't need bowel-bothering basslines of pulverising breaks to kickstart a party. That's certainly the view of the Feature Breaks crew. Here, they deliver a shuffling, funk-fuelled disco-breaks belter with an absurdly catchy vocal and dancefloor-bating female raps. The original is arguably the standout, but it's joined by averitable skipload of remixes. There's a loose wobbler from DJ AKA, a tough funk workout from Funkanomics and a more organic-sounding roller from Zamali. As if that wasn't enough, there's also an acapella, various instrumentals and two versions of bonus cut "Big Up Booty", a ragga-breaks cut that comes complete with hectic vocals and just the right amount of funk flavour.
