Groovekiller - (5:22) 132 BPM Hot

Tigerstyle - (5:22) 132 BPM
Tripla - (5:32) 131 BPM
Review: There really does seem to be no stopping the tide that is emerging out of the Time Is Now camp, as they continue their frankly outstanding run of releases with this brand new collaborative effort from both Coldpast & Tuff Trax. The EP has an old school feel from the jump, opening up with steadily bubbling twists and grooves of 'Fluffs', incorporating vibrant vocal chops and tidily arranged drum designs. From here, the nostalgia inducing chord progressions of 'Groovekiller' and rave-ready piano riffs of 'Half Full' make themselves known, before 'Tigerstyle' lets us jump into something a little more outside the box, focussing on subtle woodwind flicks and moody chord progressions. Finally, 'Tripla' delivers a subby touchdown to draw the EP to a close, with a luscious bass instrument guiding us towards a tidy finale.

Spinout
Spinout - (6:06) 132 BPM Hot
Greyson - (5:58) 132 BPM
York St. Eulogy - (5:43) 138 BPM
Review: We've been keeping an eye on Coldpast for a hot minute now and boy were we happy we did when we found this brand new drop via the fabulous Onepuf imprint. The title track 'Spinout' is a dizzying rave-ready delight, stuffed full of bouncing drum action and moogy bass pulses from start to finish. From here, the super crispy drum skips and glittering arpeggio textures of 'Greyson' give the EP an entirely new direction to head down, before we finish up on the fabulous arrangement of 'York St. Eulogy'. This one gives us an incredibly well pronounced breakbeat arrangement, complete with some super-precise drum processing and colourful sub expanses to put the final touches on a very well thought out EP indeed.

Review: Now the team at ONEPUF are gaining quite the reputation for extracting the weird and wonderful out of the producers they work with. This latest third edition of their self-named compilation series is a perfect example of that as they welcome 8 producers who all bring something very different to the table. Epoch provides us with an amphibious roller with 'Understand', followed by Exit 99's very unusual moogy creation 'Lemon Acid'. Next, some techy breaks action on 'Flugel Dance' from Coldpast before Kobe JT & Tuff Tax hit us with some original UKG flavour. Joedan keeps us on the garage tip with 'Black Everything', followed by the jersey club style sounds of 'Swisha Drop' from Killjoy and high speed acid vibes of Zeed's 'Fish & Chips'. Finally, DJ BMW lets loose some original techno flavour with the unpredictable moog stabs of 'Reactor Core VIP', with Headchef's 'Alarming Regularity' providing us with the perfect outro for this momentous compilation.

Review: Thirty Three nuggets of serious UKG gullyness; Project Allout have already developed a serious reputation for generous dispatches, but this is whole new level. Uniting their many lengmen for a deep exploration of the pastures between bassline house, instrumental grime and the broader realms of bass music, every area is covered. Highlights include the eski angst of Chemist RNS' "Stare", the violin-snapping, post-dubstep darkness of Deadbeat UK's "Graveyard", the outrageous VIP muscles of Hoax and Dubzta's "Twilight Zone" and the sassy vocal flexery of Pavv's "You Got Me". This is just the tip of the bassline iceberg, though. Dig deep and grab your own lenger; there are enough here for everyone.
