Review: Schamoni Musik is the musical arm of Munich-based independent film company Schamoni-Film & Medien that's been running since the 1960s specialising in what's described as New German Cinema. Columbus, a duo from the Munich area, make their way to the label with a distinctly French sound, comparable to the Steak soundtrack quirkiness of Ed Banger's Mr Oizo and SebastiAn, and that suave Frenchman Sebastien Tellier. Mix in some Will Powers vocal vibes and some other detuned phrasing similar to Daft Punk's "Teachers" - and a little synth-based cosmic disco - and you have great four-track EP brimming with European flair.
