Review: Column is the name of Cologne based producer Jan Philipp Janzen, who in one way or another has been involved in records coming out of his hometown for the past number of years. Previous collaborations have been with the likes of Von Spar, Cologne Tapes, Urlaub in Polen, Owen Pallett, Scout Niblett and The Field. After his excellent solo debut on Areal a couple of years ago, Janzen presents another extraordinary record in Pets II - a diverse selection of moods and grooves. From the druggy afterhours minimalism of "Der Engel Mit Dem Holzauge", the tough rolling tech-house of "Craft Beer Punks Fuck Off" (both in collaboration with Myr) or the deep late-night mood lighting of "Tension & Hedges" (with Marvin Horsch) - he's got you covered for any moment on the dancefloor. Terrific remixes come courtesy of Leipzig's finest Leibniz (Credit 00) and Map.ache (Kann)
