Review: Filthy Habits and Complex join forces for two steamroller jams on Logan D's Low Down Deep. Complementing each other's sounds perfectly, 'Consequences' lands first with its addictive rolling percussion and twisted riff before 'Elements' sweeps in with an even aggier and persistent feel. Militant as the riff hits with every beat, and laced with swooning horns on the breakdown, there's a timeless D&B energy to this that takes us right back to the early 2000s Bristol sound. Massive.

Review: Introducing the sounds of The Usual Suspects Part 1, a radical attempt to create jump-up so splintered and broken you'll barely recognise it. This is pure party music, there's no time for sophisticated conversations about its merits because you'll be too busy dancing to it. Sota's 'Pumper's epitomizes the extent of the madness here, with a punched-out percussive line that underpins a grating force of progression and anger, perfectly crafted to give you goosebumps in the dance. The metallic quality to 'Bring It' is another highlight, and it's safe to say that with these five tunes, Sota, Supreme Being, Heist, Complex and The Force have done a wicked job. Big tunes.

Review: Logan D's Low Down Deep welcome Complex to the family with these two stinking wallopers. "Tested" takes the lead with its sharp but sweet sense of funk. All one note hits and octave variations, it's a classic alchemy that will drive the dancefloor nuts every time. Meanwhile "Under The Bed" takes things into darker territories with a creepy sample and a wobbled-out bass so strong it could life up your bed while you sleep in it. Don't have nightmares.

Review: Some people are born in a hospital. Other people were born in a birthing pool. Jesus was born in a manger. Complex was "Born In Darkness" and with designs as stinky and rudeboy as these, you can most certainly tell. The title track is a heads-down creeper with some cool harmonics on the bass as it weaves its hunch-back riff between the gravestones. "Brain Freeze" lives up to its name, too. Woozy, strange and disorienting and prone to some cool moments of swing on the fills, Complex has cooked up something unique here. Best served cold.

Review: Complex returns to clear up the debris from his explosive "Back It Up" release with Decoy at the start of the year. First comes a brand new jam; the deep menacing cyborg rolling funk of "Dark World" where a techier edge prevails along with some exceptional detuned synth cascades on the fills. Next up is a VIP of "Back It Up". The vocals are still pretty dubious but with a new twist on the bass and extra grotty funk, it's still a cracking VIP. Soundz as a pound mate.

Review: Landing on the imitable Subway Soundz once more is Complex, a producer with an ability to pack in raw, unadulterated rage into a set of dastardly arrangements and hellish soundscapes, while wrapping it all up in an urban-tinted, jump-up package. Subway Soundz know how to curate, basically. This release is one for the jump up heads who don't like things screechy and overdone, but instead murky and rough. Picture old school Sub Zero, basically. That's what Final Space is, with punishing bass stabs and a driving feel of intent and purpose. Foggy takes things in a more modern, KoTR direction but maintains that roughness - big single.

Review: Complex is backing it up over on Subway Soundz with a tight sounding single. 'Back It Up' featuring Decoy on the mic has, admittedly, some slightly questionable lyrics but they definitely fit well with the spirit of the tune: a dark, moody stepper that doesn't care about rules and certainly doesn't care about feelings. The main bass on this tune oozes quality and packs some serious weight, reminiscent of the Souped Up crew. 'Impulse' is slightly less crazy and thereby lacks some of the sophistication but, nevertheless, packs a nice little punch and also smacks of Souped Up sounds. Tasty bits here.

Review: Following recent releases on Good 4 Nothing and Serial Killaz, the ever-versatile Complex joins Agro and co on Sub-liminal for this hefty banger six pack 'Boarderlack'. As always with Complex (especially last year's album On The Outskirts) the beats are fat, focused and wholly uncompromised as he ploughs us all down with a spectacle of fearsome acts. Highlights include the wonderfully wobbly wonk on 'Over The Hill', the pure drama of the EP title track 'Boaderlack' and purring textures and endless twists of 'Could Have'. Pure filth.

Good 4 Nothing smash down the doors of 2024 with nasty intent as they rally up a squad of exciting new generation troops for this vividly titled VA 'Horrible'. Horrid highlights include the electrifying riffage and energy of Insightz' 'Danger', the howling textures and abrasive funk of Eski B's 'Gudunka' and the gamified drama and vibrancy of Flint's 'Heaven'. Review: Good 4 Nothing remains good for everything as they catapult themselves into 2023 with pure dubplate intention, teasing us with brand new heat from across their family of artists. 14 cuts in total, each one tickling a different underbelly of the D&B psyche, highlights range from Filthy Habits' loose-limbed grizzly opener 'In The Dark' to the final battle charge reese bass of Phadix's closing 'Forest Calls'. In between we have startling savage moments such as Fanatics' horn-melting wonky-leg 'Bebop', early 2000s flavoured riff gold on Breakbout's 'Over And Out' and pure wobble science on Lundy's 'Ride With Me'. Two tracks, two very different vibes: 'The Birds' screeches like a falcon and attacks like an eagle with its high frequency riff but high pressure bite. Review: Good 4 Nothing rally up the troops for a good old fashioned VA knees up with some good friends old and new. 'Horrible' by name, sick by nature across the five tracks we're treated to layers on layers of hurly burly basslines and high energy riffs. Standouts come courtesy of Kensei (old school Playaz vibes on 'Show You') the crispy militance and high pressure kickdrums of Machine Attax's 'Innocent Blood' and the moody, swampy funk of Complex's 'Go' but the whole EP is straight up fire.

Review: Good4Nothing Records always tend to put out music that rests on the foundations of UK underground, the cross-over influences of jungle and D&B. it's always a fresh sound and it always brings up connotations of Boomtown, free parties and sunny afternoons. Twisted, gnarled jump up is the main focus here in the second part of their 10-year anniversary celebrations and Complex is a good example of how it goes down, his track 'Night Time' blowing and flowing through with all the power of the winter winds. Danger's 'Falling' is yet more filth, with a powerful drum line and punchy sub-bass that bangs in and out of the range. Excellent compilation.

Review: Good4Nothing are turning 10 years old and are celebrating that fact in the only real way you should celebrate a label anniversary: with a big old compilation album. They've gone all-in for this one and raked up 15 tunes artists like Dutta, Ironlung, Slipz and Complex. Dutta' contribution is typically naughty, with a pulsating back end that sits just beneath a snappy drum line that includes a lovely, wooden snare that has just the right amount of bite. Part 1 of this series is a truly hedonistic banger of a compilation which is well worth checking out, we cannot wait to hear what the label has in store for us in Part 2.

Review: Good 4 Nothing bossman undergoes the knife of his own label mates as Premium and Certified both put their own stamp on two of his big dancefloor 2016 slapdowns. The former maintains the same up-and-down riff dynamic but with much more distorted atonality in the riff while the latter adds a whole new engine of bass texture on "Bad Bitches". Both paying total respect to the originals while taking them to brave new places, this is a perfect snapshot of where Good 4 Nothing is at right now.

Review: Longstanding jump-up merchant and Good 4 Nothing bossman Complex comes barging into your summer with another sledgehammer selection. "Anubis" hits with a bassline that's impossible not to compare to early Clipz. All whistling and fierce but funky, you'll be kicking yourself in the anu(bi)s if you don't pick up on this quickly. Highlights punch and bump every twist thereafter... The plucked note riff on "Real", the melting bass textures on "Ask Frank", the show-stopping wobbles of "Legohead" and the iron skank damager "Sneak Attack" all hit serious spots.

Review: More future-talent fire from the label that gave us early releases from the likes of DJ Guv and Prestige, Good 4 Nothing aren't messing around. We kick off the four-track power pack with label bossman Complex who runs with a crucial cinematic backdrop that's all spine-tingles and drama. Criticalblow follows with a real rumbler that's reminiscent of early 2000s Full Cycle era output where bass accounted for a good 80 percent of the tune. Minzo is all waspy and wild with a bass textures that morphs, mutates and melts in different directions amid some rushy rave pads while Heskk closes the deal on a gritty Belgian flex. Staccato one-note riffs don't come any sharper.

Review: Complex's G4N stable kick 2016 like murky mules with a brand new eight-tracker loaded with gully shredders from friends old and new. Jack The Ripper and Two Twisted are two names to make their G4N debut: the former laying down squelchy, planet squashing terror with "Dust" and "Death Of A Zombie" while the latter gets busy with sketchy, clipped-tone trippiness with "The Experiment" and "The Deal". Elsewhere label bossman Complex teams up with Dub Berzerka for the T-1000 killing metallic smasher "Cyborg" and looks to the dojo for inspiration on "Kombat". Finally Macky Gee delivers two of the darkest cuts of the collection with the harrowing ripples of "The Clown" and the straight-up nasty that is "Buss A Skank" where tidal waves of bass knock you clean off your feet. Not a dull moment, get collecting.
