Call Myself - (17:35) 138 BPM
Review: Canadian sound designer Crys Cole is no stranger to the work of the judicious Oren Ambrachi. In fact, the two have already collaborated thanks to an EP for Bocian Records back in 2012, but it's safe to say that plenty has happened since then and that both artists have had a chance to evolve significantly. Black Truffle is responsible for this turn of events, an affair that starts with the loose, open-minded drones of "Call Myself" and its companion, the comparatively more tenebrous noises of "Francis Debacle". "Burrata", much like the real thing, is a soft and gentle gloop of sparkly sonics, while "Pad Phet Gob" throws us into the jungle, literally surrounded by a swarm of overhead insects. Predictably unpredictable.
