Review: Here comes the remix! Digital Terror look back over their eight year back cat and dust off a few faves that are ripe for the rework. BassBrothers step up first with a darker, more demonic take on "Cartel", only hinting it the original's hair-raising 16Bit style high end textures. Envenom take us back to 2015 and add a whole new layer of twisted harmonic funk to "Kicks" while Dutta gives us the (KRS) one-fingered salute with the savage high-note riff venom. Finally Jayline & Hokilla's 2013 jungle rumbler gets a stark subby treatment from San Diego fire man Sub Killaz. And this is only part one...
Review: Germany representing! Jump-up representing! Shrust's PDD gathers friends old and new for a riotous kick-start to 2017. It's fire from the off as OG Bassface Sascha lets rip with "Superhuman" which tips a nod to the Supreme Being/Taxman style of late 2000s jumpery before Lustral lays down his nastiest tones on the insanely uncompromising "Z2A". Elsewhere Koznik & Khavy adds a little amen twist on "Killer", Manga scratches our hinds raw as he riddles us with glitches on "Dragon's Claw" and Machines threw a little 90s west coast hip-hop feels before ripping our faces off on "Ears Still Blastin" With more caustic bumpers from Mech, Substainless, Connecta and Cue, this is one seriously explosive package.
Review: Fresh from their celebratory EP series, Digital Terror bring German troublemaker back into the fold with two savage showdowns: "Future Shock" fuses a warning on technology's rampant developments with a grizzly distorted bassline and tribal beats in a way that's reminiscent of both the neuro and UK jump-up sounds. "Kicks", meanwhile, is more of your straight up jugular-punching jump up with a Tyke-style bassline that takes no prisoners whatsoever.
Review: Wrapping up a month of five-year anniversary chaos, Digital Terror have bundled their exclusive remix adventures into one sense-slapping compendium. All label talents are present and correct with highlights punching, kicking and grizzling from every corner. Ranging from Hoogs' sticky treacle low end stretches on "Effects" to Hedex's rougher, more metallic swagger on "Greed" and Lyptikal's out-and-out industrial grindage on "Badman" and Lowriderz' harrowing designs on "Kung Fu Is Banned", if you missed on any of the four EPs now is your chance to catch up. If this is how Digital Terror celebrate five years, we can't wait to see how they party a decade of sonic hellraising.
Review: New York D&B hotbed Digital Terror celebrate five years in the filth industry with a series of heavyweight remix EPs. It kicks off here with this ridiculous five tracker featuring the likes of Saxxon, Hoogs, Northern Lights, Filthy Habits and Voltage. Each remixer delivers in a major way with notable highlights being the ozone-blasting bass and old schooly twists on Northern Light's remix of "Think Different" and the high pressure drums and Metalheadz textures on Saxxon's remix of "Shadow Lion". Savage.
