Review: Jesus Diaz (Jesusdapnk) has been a stalwart of the San Diego house scene since the mid-00s, and here he teams up with fellow local Currents, AKA Alejandro Bustamante-Martinez. 'South Bay Disco' is a driving, Armand/Sneak-ish disco-houser with a vocal bite from Lauryn Hill's 'Doo Wop' in its Original form, before being given a much deeper re-rub from Kostrok. Elsewhere on the EP, 'Inhale, Exhale' is a pacy chugger with a wonky, jazzual kinda feel, while 'Guilty Pleasures' maintains the tempo and rocks a filtered, harmonised female chorus: both are perfectly playable, but probably best pointed at younger floors that still have the energy!
